My guess is will be by the book. Can't go wrong. And this I will throw out there. If "rapid break-in" results in a couple more horsepower now I'm guessing by 20k miles it'll result in a couple hp less. I personally don't believe rapid break in somehow magically develops more power, or "loosens ups the parts" or whatever that would result in more horsepower.

LOL I remember when I bought my bike a lot of people here told me "if you break it in easy it'll always be a dog". Those people were absolutely full of shit.

I haven't ridden mine enough to monitor oil consumption but I know it was using no later than the the third or fourth oil change. Definitely after I switched to a full synthetic. I broke it in easy. Most of the oil consumption was from the valve cover leak. It slowed way down after that but I think it still used some and as far as I can guess, it still does but very little. I know I don't need to add anymore. The busa was broke in / Motoman and it never uses a drop. I will break in any new bike fast but I doubt it makes much difference either way. It all depends on the particular bike and who put it together IMO.

Congrats on the new bike Hub. I'm still on my 06. Since I have to stick to a budget until the brats....er... the kids get out of college, I plan on keeping it. I did ride Jays 2013 and it was very nice. Right now I have 66k miles on it, hopefully it's good for at least 100k. So, the wife and are talking and this bike is the FIRST I've ever contemplated on spending big money on suspension upgrades. Looking at an Ohlins shock and cartridges.
If I ever manage to blow it up I'll most likely rebuild the motor with a ported head, maybe go Full Tilt Bozo and get a turbo. If I crash it I will get a newer ZX14R.

Thanks again everyone. Just came back from the dealer. Bike is sitting in the garage. I can't believe how heavy the bike is compared to the (stripper) 2013. The front brake master is like squeezing a brick. I've installed quite a few of these brimbo masters on race bikes. The stock master is like squeezing pillow... huge difference. The green is bass boat green with the sparkles dancing in the paint... if you can imagine.

Photos soon.

Take the pic's after you put the Shimano and Diawa stickers on the Bass Boat ...

Let me know if you want some company and a hand removing the mass from the new toy this weekend!

Cheers

Thanks for the offer cruderudy, but I'm being dragged away for the weekend. Besides, you know how hot it is right now. So I'm going to wait it out for the moment.

That paint scheme is the bomb diggity.. one of my all time favs.

I wonder if heavy feeling isn't just the OE tires. Or maybe low on air pressure (I know this would probably be un-Hub like... lol probably guaged them before you pulled off..just saying)

For everyone. To get a pic off photobucket, click on the image. On the right are the options.Pick 'img'...you have to swipe the mouse pointer across the code and let it scroll to it's end...so it's highlighted.Right click 'copy'.Then on the forum, you 'paste' the code.It won't show a pic...but it will take you to that image.Just in case no one knew about that;)Ya'll probably do.

Here, click on hub's link here. When you get to his page, click on his 'name' just at the left top of the window. It'll open to his pics.

Yes the photo was dead for me to, but I clicked on the account name and it took me to the thumbnail page. I could see the bike in one of the thumbnails but that's about it...clicking on it took me back to their stupid linked site thing.

I'm working on them but I'm not busting my hump this time. LOL Already did that and pb came along about 3 days after I got it all done and wiped everything out. I just got the Gen1 fairing tutorial updated for like the third time but now it's there to stay.

Photo bucket not working here either .. would love to see the pics.
Congrats on the new ride Hub !
There is nothing out there that compares to a 14 in my opinion !
I am hoping for the next gen 14 or 15 in a few more months, i just hope i don't like it too much.

Dave: There's one on the other side as well. These hold the bike up in the frame. OEM crate parts.
Grn: See a portion of the '13's can to the left in the photo? I'll remove all the beauty covers off the new mufflers as well.
Vic: Mule #4(?) but I'm pretty much done figuring out what I needed to know. Open for suggestions.
