Confirmed and done.
I now own a black Gen 2 in amazing condition.
Hooray...
I'll do a bit of work on it, change a few of the accessories across from the 07 and post a few pics when done...

Just realized.
I currently now own 2 ZX-14's!
Hooray again.
But hopefully not for that long...

I know second hand 2012 Black ZX14R's are a dime a dozen but this one is mine and I feel like a kid at Christmas. I've been looking at the upgrade changes Kawasaki made in 2012 and what they did was amazing. I knew about some of the changes but not all. They really did a great job.
I did a little work on the new bike tonight and will probably do more on the weekend.
One thing is for sure. When the two bikes are together, the blue destroys the black color wise IMO...
Here's a couple of initial pics.

Thanks guys.
I'm pretty excited with the new machine and really looking forward to the next ride to see how it stacks up against my 07...

Almost all done and my black Gen2 now has just about everything it needs (see below description).
The 07 where most of this kit came from is looking a little bare and sad though.
Two quick things.
Firstly, I thought installing an HM Plus quick shifter was tough on a Gen1, but a Gen2 is another level of restrictiveness to get to those coil connections with all the extra leads and tubing. It would of helped if I had the hands the size of a 5 year old. But after a great deal of patience, perseverance and chopped up hands, the HM Plus is now fitted. If you are thinking of installing any quick shifter that attaches to the coils on a Gen2, beware...
Secondly, I transferred the Powerbronze carbon rear hugger from my Gen1 and it fitted fine with only a little bending of the brake and ABS line support brackets.
Not sure why there is a Gen1 and Gen2 version of these huggers or why there are video's of cutting brackets and so on to make it fit.
Perhaps the design is slightly different on the American version Gen1 and Gen2's compared to the Australian models?
Lastly, the ECU will be getting a custom dyno flash. You buggers better not have been exaggerating about the differences it makes...

Well thats it...
My 2007 candy plasma blue ZX-14 is now sold and picked up by its new owner.
I have a beautiful Gen2 sitting in the garage waiting for a couple more mods and then I'll have what Ive always wanted in a 14. Pretty much a full electronics package, ABS, a few more cc's of power, and more factory upgrades than I could have hoped for.
So why do I feel so sad?
I'll miss you old girl...

Thanks guys.
Yep, I have to admit I'm really happy with the decision to upgrade to the R.
Been so busy at work that I haven't had a chance to take it for a decent ride yet.
Just waiting for the new braided lines and 3 minor aesthetic items to arrive.
Then new Pilot Power 3's and a major service including valves and the bike is done.
I'll get a few pics up when complete.

Well, after new tyres and a major service, the bike is also completed hardware wise (just waiting on the ECU back).
See below signature for what's actually been added to the bike.
Green may be fastest, but nothing looks meaner than black!
Im very very happy with the outcome.
I said I'd throw a pic or two up when completed so here we go.

Hey Mav, I'm not a fan of the front reflectors either but if removed with the ZX-10 fender mod, the brackets they come off just look unfinished with nothing on them which I think looks worse.
The black Vortex rear sprocket is a top suggestion but will wait till I replace old worn one.

Looks friggin sweet!
Maybe consider swapping the orange reflectors for red ones, both of which are the same size & single mount type. May not meet laws, but would go with all the other red highlights you have. Basically I'm saying "function follows form" ... in this case

Great idea extrapolator...
Im assuming it wouldn't follow laws but definitely worth looking into.
Are the red reflectors available from Kawa?
