Ratfink, go to your profile and put at least your State in for location. LOL.

Then we will know where to get ethanol-free gas.

My region (Maryland, PA, VA, WV area) has mandatory ethanol content.

I use StarTron religiously.

guess im lucky to live near concord,NC where many gas pumps carry 100 octane race fuel. its 6.99 a gallon, but sure is fun every once and a while to feel and smell that fuel!

Mine won't run any better above 89 octane, that is not my opinion, its what Brock Davidson himself told me. Since he doesn't own any oil companies I tend to trust his opinion.

When I was a kid I used to put high octane in my bikes and cars and etc., back when you could turn a dial and select all the way up to, if I remember correctly, 105 or something. In retrospect, I was just wasting money, because it didn't make the machines faster, or quicker, and in some cases it made them slower.

I don't think you can get ethanol-free pump gas here in Calif. I was using Stabil in my Bandit, and just recently got a bottle of Lucas Oil Ethanol Fuel Treatment, which I'm gonna use in the Bandit and my new Zed. Ethanol is evil. They just passed a resolution requiring the EPA to do more research into increasing the amount of ethanol they are proposing to use in pump gas. The AMA had a "Take Action!" link to email your congressman to get them to support that resolution.

Look up some History channel about sugar. You'll watch the history of cane, the process, the candies, then the fuel alternatives. The sugar beats are the oil deposits a few inches below the surface. Then comes the corn syrup and that sweetener. Then Brazil with their corn driven cars. Then, you see the hp difference you want 90% corn, 10% sweetener like MR12 me tank is the top off. Corn gained HP wink-wink!

I add Stabil to my fuel to reduce oxidation and I add at a ratio of 500:1 Motul 710 2-cycle oil (ester) to my stored fuels to reduce seal shrinkage and hardening of the hoses caused by the degradation of the plasticizers in the rubber.

With a fleet of equipment dating back to 1974, I can say my concoction works. Even my old 1979 CBX is plugging along with ethanol based fuels and it was designed in the days of leaded gasoline.

One thing of humor to note, since Hub mentioned sugar, sugars mixed with fuels won't dissolve and cause the buffet of horrid engine problems that people incorrectly believe. Unless there's a lot of water in that fuel tank, gasoline won't dissolve sugar. It might cause a clogged filter but that's about it.
