Fender eliminator
02/06/09 6:27 PM

I just wanted to put in a good word for the MOTO-FAB fender eliminator kits available here:

http://www.moto-fab.com/motorcycle-parts/kawasaki-zx-14/cat_13.html

I found out about these on the old forum, ordered one, and installed it a short time ago. It is VERY NICE. It makes the back end of the bike look a WHOLE lot better. Instructions are clear. Highly recommended. -bg

Moto-Fab (Ted) make lots of stuff for a ZRX of which I have 2. His kits are always top notch with good directions. I have put a lot of his merchandise on many ZRX's and have never had a problem.
Also a good guy to deal with.

Ted is awesome. I had a bunch of his stuff on ZRX's also; his stuff is always clean and elegant, comes with good instructions, and it always seems like he really gives a shit about his stuff AND the people he deals with.

Definitely get the one with the LED light; it's a nice source of light for the plate and is really unobtrusive. The Ivan's kit is nicely done, but it uses the stocker light which is good, but it brings the plate down another two inches or so.

I used a Speed Tactics fender eliminator. Did not want the hassle of all the wiring if I change plates or when I decide what plate frame I want so I installed one LED bolt above the plate to keep everything legal. Also decided that loosing the accessory hooks was not an option so I drilled out the factory rivet and then installed them in the eliminator. [img][/img][img][/img][img][/img]

Does the MOTO-FAB allow the cargo hooks to be remounted? Or was it by choice that none of the example photos have the hooks reinstalled?

I too, used the Speed Tactics, and reused the mounting hooks. I used two LED bolts for the top plate mount bolts, but wish I'd thought of putting them on the bracket itself, like notfirstbutnext did. Having them on the plate is kind of messy.

Sharkey, im not sure if you could reuse the cargo hooks with the MOTO-FAB, you probably should just go with the speed tactics eliminator. Other people are talking about how clear the directions are... I didnt even get any directions or nuts and bolts. All i got was the steel bracket and LED and just made it work. And when mounting the LED i had to get it as far back as possible so it would actually light up the license plate and still only lit about 3/4 of it.

This is for the guys that like myself dont want to spend alot of $$$ for an eliminator this one cost me $24.99 +$14.99 for the l.e.d.'s got it at customizedbikeparts.com it has the zx14 logo cut out of it and already has the holes for the led's that means no drilling on the bike to mount the lights which was a + for me installation was a breeze.

I just added Yosh R-77 slip-ons and they much shorter than stock so the big tail really stands out.
Could someone who has the Muzzy fender eliminator post a couple of pics? Also does installation require any drilling?
Thanks,
BB

I dont have it but from what I understand the Muzzy is a direct bolt on, nothing extra required. It uses the stock license lamp.
