Tires

Okay...after reading the posts here, and other forums...the consensus seems to be that the Pilot Power 2 ct is the popular one.I ordered a set today-rear-190/55.Never used these before.Free shipping.Gonna give em a go.Not very happy with the Angels I bought....already need to replace the rear(and front soon).Great tire feel with em,but they WERE touted as being an extended mileage tire moreso than the Stradas.Just did the math here....3,105 miles on this Pirelli Angel rear.I won't be buying THESE again!I've been running stock gearing just for this set of tires-very disappointed.Hope my new rear gets decent wear. We'll see.NOT recommending these Pirelli Angels.Makes no sense to replace their Stradas with these. The Stradas I got always at least 5,000 out of.And they gripped like glue.(so did these however). You all think I should write Pirelli and tell em about my "first experience" with their "new Strada replacement"?

Yes - most don't, but if you don't tell 'em what's wrong, how will they correct it? Surely they've had others express their discontent if you're having this experience. I got one helluva deal from a guy that does track days and has his hands in track tire supplies where they have 95% or better wear on them. I got a pair of Dunlop 209's mounted & balanced for $150. I don't expect much more than 2k miles on them, but they grip like no other tire I've ever owned. Afterwards, I'll be trying out the Michelin Pilot Road 2's as my bike is mostly a commuter and those factory shit tires gave me a nice flat spot the length of the rear tire. The front was still good, but I hated them so much, I told the guy to do what he wanted with them as I needed to wash my mouth of Bridgestone out with ANYthing else. Still find it hard to believe that the Japanese go through all that trouble to come out with such a cutting edge bike, then put some of the worst effin' tires on her. Still a little torqued about that.

I always wanted to try out a track tire and I'm not disappointed!

I bought a set of the Pilot Road 2CT for the rainy Oregon winter......very impressed. I've had them on everything from frosty roads to standing water and they feel more secure than the Bridgestone BT021 that I had before. It's finally drying out up here.....so we'll see how they do on dry roads, but I expect they will perform well.

From my experience with them so far, I'm planning on replacing them with the same thing when the time comes.

"Experience" is what you get when you didn't get what you wanted.

If you want to get the life out of them keep the pressure at 39-40+ psi.I've been talkin' to the Michelin reps and that's what they recomend.I got over 8,000+ miles out of my last rear and that was after a 7 day 4,200 mile trip!!!!!

I'm running the Dunlop Road Smarts right now. Seem to be holding up ok.
