Thanks guys.

Grn and Privateer-thanks to you both for the PM's pre delivery reviews of these pipes that you have or had on your bikes.

RE: Pics of new Brocks CT Duals

Many of you Brocks users have far more experience with Brocks products than I do, so nothing new here but I want to say that I am enjoying my 14R now more than ever. The stock system even with the hideous OEM can's made great smooth quiet power, but the bike never felt like the monster that it is. First observation is the aural aspect. While I have not been a fan of the bass treble sound on sport bikes, I have to say that I have never heard a richer more robust sound on any motorcycle than I do with this full system. If there is a better sounding setup I haven't heard it. It's not overly loud but not quiet either. The feedback I now get from the smallest amount of throttle inputs is addictive,. The power is very SMOOTH and linear. In fact I find it smoother than the stock setup,(just as Grn reported with this CT Single) that felt almost turbo like at times. The back pressure on those stock silencers, while offering a lot of serious torque, really did not feel as good as this free breathing bike. The bike is now very eager to rev and I find myself using the gear box more, (ala a liter bike), than I did before. The feel and sound of this system through the gears, downshifting, or just a blip of the throttle is chill inducing!
I can't say that I've noticed the added power that a full system and good map offers in a major way, but I wasn't reallly expecting it to be honest, given the excellent fueling and very brisk behavior of the factory setup. I mean when you release a bike with over 190RWHP and 115 ft/lb torque, theres only so much to add. I've only put a little over 80 miles on the bike since install, so until I take my Sunday morning 200 mile country ride, I won't likely really take full advantage of what the bike has to offer. I'm sure most if not all the gains are going to be much further up the rev band than I've really gotten into for any sustained periods yet, It's redundant to say, I know, but of all the bikes I've owned and all the aftermarket companies I've dealt with for engine rebuilds, fueling systems, dyno tunes, etc etc., I've never had a more pleasurable experincee than I have had with Brocks Performance. Salute!

Very happy you like it...I figured ya would.Roll on in 3rd briskly...get er pinned to redline...when you hit 6K....please report back

So I'm guessing here you don't have a PC or a map from Brock's?Just wait till ya get THAT little setup......make those fire breathin pipes REALLY take ya for a ride!!!!LOL!Don't forget...that Brock's package pushed her over 200 HP.89 pump gas if I remember correctly.

You want even MORE 'response'?....pull those secondaries....

Grn--I have a PC5 and Brocks Streetmap. I didn't mean to infer that there isn't major power with the setup. There is! It's just that I spent 4000 miles riding the bike stock and no way around it, the bike is just a rocket in any form. The difference now is smooth, faster and freer reving with more muscle up top. But again I haven't really ridden the bike enough to tout massive gains. Either way, I love the pipe and the map and overall feel. It's night and day and is much more fun to ride. And again...massive power. I doubt I'll ever pull the flie. I had a Guhl flash done on a C14 that opened the secondaries around 2K. I'd rather go that route with my 14 along with the other flash features. Right now it doesn't need either IMO.

I hear ya...I noticed some serious 'quickness' when I did all my stuff.I had(have) the guhl flash as well...with the secondary plates opening sooner...HOWEVER...how MUCH sooner I didn't know. When I removed my secondaries...I could definitely feel a bigger boost off the bottom. If you go that route...the guhl flash...I would tell them(if you're intending on keeping your plates in)...to have em open IMMEDIATELY on throttle opening...not at 3k or whatever it is they set em too. This isn't the C-14 motor. It IS tuned different(natch). They also adjusted my ignition tables...how much?IDK...but I could feel a better response than the stock config for sure...and I don't think it was all pipe.Hard to say...that exhaust definitely allowed her to breathe.

I should say...I have a brand new stock ECU here...which I switched out after putting the exhaust on...the guhl flash and PCV mapping made a big difference in the response of the motor. The Flashed ECU I reinstalled. The stocker even with the pipes just wsn't quite what I wanted...good....very good...but not quite as strong across the rev range as the Guhl.

I didn't weigh the stock setup but still can since I have it. I can tell you the entire dual setup, as it was shipped, box and all, weighed 16 lbs, so say 15 lbs for the Brocks system. Someone here probably knows what the OEM setup weighs?

Yes Willie...I do. I'm watching gas mileage now. Not overly concerned with gas mileage typically, only more as an indication of whether the map/tune is too rich. Now it looks like with Brocks streetmap I'm gonna get close to the same that I was getting stock, about 37, maybe a little less. I'll ride it this way for a while because the map does seem very smooth, but in all liklihood will end up with a custom tune at some point. Every hear of Dale at Cycle Werkz in Ft Worth?

Jagman - Yes, I have heard of them... looked them up right after I got the 14 when I was lookin' for a place to get some work done on it... Ended up not using them though. If you use them for anything, let me know how it goes. Looking for a good place to have some tuning done, in search of a little better mpg myself...

I actually talked to them. They seem to know their stuff. I think Dale work for some AMA teams as well. I was about to ride there to get a custom tune but $300 bucks for maybe 3 hp sounded kinda expensive. They do appointment and you there with the tuner who will answer all the questions you have.

I will put up a post if I go that route. Jim Sabin has a pretty good reputation as well, but I've heard more consistent positive from Cyclewerkz. Right now honestly Brocks streetmap that I have now is very impressive/

Hey Dave...it's a full system. I think Brock has the duals listed at $2100. Not cheap but they are outstanding quality.

Thanks! Oh, I did look it up. Saw that it was $2300!! Months ago!!
I kinda hoped it was something new,,, and cheaper!
Had my share of loud pipes. Looking for quiet power.
Yes, I'm old. (52)

Thanks for the pics though!

Understand. These pipes definitely aren't quiet, but they are pretty mellow actually in tone. Yoshimura has some R77 slip on's that are supposed to be pretty quiet...and they are very nice looking as I'm sure you know.
I'm old too...@ 53:)

Yep, saw them too. Waiting to see if any other systems come out.
Area P is suspose to be making a slip on and full system soon.

Akropovich has slip on's also. I rode this 14R for 3k miles in 4 months with the stock bazookas and while I can't stand the look, I admit that the stealth factor and quiet power really grew on me:)

Saw them a while ago too. Way to pricey for me but look really good.

Yep, love the quiet power I have but also hate how they look.

Guess I'll see what happens over the winter for our bikes.

Just got the Guhl flash last week.

Awesome!!!!
