Sad day but new a dawn
02/11/14 12:34 PM

Well I dropped off my 2009 zx14 off at the dealer today, I traded her in for a 2014 ZX14R. I’m a bit sad to see her leave, she is an awesome running motorcycle, and she only had 11,100 miles on her. I wanted to keep her but couldn’t afford the new one without trading her in. So now I just have wait to hear from the dealer when the new one arrives. Any thoughts on my decision to trade up, I’m hoping it was a good choice since she was paid off.

Only downside is the fact you traded it in. Selling it yourself would of netted you more cash to put down towards the new bike.

I think once you get on the new one, and ride it for a while, you will feel ALOT better !!

My busa got totaled, and I was sad when, they took her away, but let me tell you, this new 14R, is faster, handles better, is smoother, and stops a lot better than my busa did, I'm sure a first gen 14 is simular to my experience with the busa, not that the busa and first gen. 14's aren't good, because they are,

But I bet you won't be able to wipe the grin off your face when you take your new steed out !

Have fun, ride safe, but fast !!!!

Congratulations on the new bike, you're going to enjoy it.I hope I can afford to update every 3-4 yrs for a newer model myself. The main two motorized things I hope to always keep(besides my truck) are a backhoe and my 14r.The backhoe makes a little $$ and makes work/general tasks much easier and my 14r just makes life easier.Nothing beats a short cruise in the evenings and on weekends that will help put any worries and problems on the back burner in exchange for pure riding concentration and enjoyment that constantly puts a smile on my face. It's a bike that has comfort for longer rides and power for excitement but you already know that.Look forward to pics when you get her..

You will love the new gen. I am not experienced on the prevous gen, but I can attest to how great of an all around bike that the new gen is. So comfortable, powerful, smooth, etc, etc.

You traded on a cycle you own outright, on a cycle they dont have yet?

I agree with Kolk1, you shoulda sold it yourself.
