FEELS LIKE A NEW BIKE
09/10/13 11:15 AM

Removed the tail fairing and lowered the rear 2 inches with exotic (Yana Shiki red $15 on Ebay) lowering links. Lowered the front 1 inch by sliding the forks up(it was free). Raised the clip-ons 2 inches from that point using GenMar risers(already on hand)and rare (Ace Hardware) one inch spacers. Used the best 90MM bolts money can buy(Fastenal told me that). Installed a custom made (cut one inch off and sloppy weld job)shorty kickstand.
Then installed two imported (Chinese) expensive (cheap) carbon fiber (fake) and stainless steel (inferior grade) mufflers with removeable baffles. Okay, it aint new but if feels like it. Huge difference !!!!

That is one Heluva cost effective list that made ur bike stand out HUGE! Looks wicked man! Bet she sounds awesome with no baffles! I like how massive the muffler end cap is, kinda like a GP look. But double and massive!

Thanks guys !! With the baffles removed the sound is fantastic. Very deep and rumbly (if that is a word). However, it is just too loud. After a ride I still hear the exhaust ringing in my ears for 15 minutes after the bike is shut down. With the holes drilled in the baffles the sound is perfect. The mufflers are very light. I didnt weigh them but would guess 3 or 4 pounds each. Anyway, the bike fits me perfectly now. I am 5'11" but have short arms and legs so the changes really helped me enjoy the ride. Now I am flat footed with bent knees at stops and dont have my forehead practically leaning on the windscreen. Its almost like having long arms and legs....lol !!!!

Kudos on the exhaust! That really looks great!

Just stands out as something special and menacing; should garner lots of attention and props.

Do you have any idea how OR if it affected power / power band?

PaulAB: The "fueling" between 2,000 and 3,000 RPM doesnt feel as smooth as with the stock mufflers. As for the power band I would only be guessing. I know it still scares the hell out of me at full throttle....lol !!!
