Don't make a decision (regarding insurance coverage) on the assumption nobody will want to steal it, mark43.

The majority of bike thefts are carried out by throwing the bike in the bed of a pickup truck or trailer. It is big business.

A lot more dual purpose and dirt bikes get nabbed than ZX14s or Harleys, because they are light, and you can turn them over faster. And so the thieves make more money on lighter bikes.

With a light bike, it doesn't matter if it has a wheel lock or a chain over the seat through the rear wheel. If it isn't "bolted to the ground" they just pick it up and toss it.

yes you are right... back in the day i remember hearing about a bar system for stealing bikes.... looks like a weigh lifting bar with 2 bends.. 2 guys the bars goes thru the back wheel hooks up to the front wheel one guy grips one end each and they can throw in a van in like 15 seconds... think it was over in england.

Best $200 you'll ever lose... in this country.

WOW whats the name of that jerkoff dealer so I make sure I never go there?

I know your upstate NY im in staten island NY and felt that I got a fair deal at Metuchen Kawasaki in NJ if you call them ask for Henry he was really a cool guy. If You do Call him ask for the ZX14R MUMMY DUST DEAL he will probably crack up laughing and give U a good deal.

I still cant figure out what the 200 dollar charge was for? They didnt special order U anything and they didnt hold the bike special for you...more like they tried to dump a bike they couldnt sell on you.

ZX14R MUMMY DUST DEAL

Is that what they are calling your first one that showed up damaged?

and I do agree that you should not be out the $200, Mark... but if you aren't in jail and not stuck with a Bandit... worth it.

Should have no problem finding a leftover zx14 for that price.

Glad you came to your senses before it was too late.you would have been wanting to get rid of it within a month I'm gonna sure. Dyno figures for 1250.105rwp and 85lbs/ft torque.gen1 14 168rwhp105lbs/ft torque, not even close.

That bandit is like a 14 with the flies out, just on the step it down side. That means, you would have had the friskies ready with the bandit. You change up to the 14 leftover. The 14 is now detuned from the frisky bandit. You had all that rippin' torque on a short fuse, now the 14 is going to rip you a new hashole. Hasmat cleanup is how I clean my seat. Depends(pun) where you place the throttle angle.

Are you ready for a sheman's bike? Women own 14's. I don't know how hot is italian hot blooded? Bandit blooded? Come on!!! YOu make ha da sauce with a spoon here or do you pour out the EVOOk that looks like a pasta sauce is. What justified 200 bucks of paperwork?

I guess you go in with $100 deposit on the next bike and say, 'we agree' I change my mind, no problem I drive all that gas back just to think it over? Thanks for holding my impulse bucks. No skin off either, you need to relax there sales guy. That bike will be sold eventually. You took out how many potentials with that kind of shit.

I will not say the bandit is a bad bike, but it is by no means in the same class as the zx14R, or even the first gen. zx14. You should be able to find a left over 2010 or 2011 zx14 for about the same price as the other dealer wanted for the bandit. Cycle World compared the bandit to the kawi z1000, and the kawi won.

I rode a ninja 1000 last year... i felt the motor had more vibes then my yamaha 09 fz6r and when you would corner the bike wanted to sit upright too fast.

yamaha i have now seem as good if not better and the bike would of cost me more.

No, no, Mark, I said how many potential customers are going to be drawn into that dealershit with that deposit snafoo. Not good business over a few bucks and you still have a right to bail out... 72 hour final thought before you blow all that bread.

The way you're thinking, you'll buy the 14 and show it off in 'other bikes besides a 14'... I didn't say that.

are you a idiot ?

Sometimes yes... we all have our moments.

And you speak for other people.

Not usually... but safe to say that I was not the only one thinking such. You did start a thread stating you had just dropped a $2k deposit on a Bandit... on a zx14 forum.

I was just breaking your balls, Mark... If one of my Buddies pulled a move like yours, I would never let them live it down.

I've noticed a few ex-14 owners are now R-owners. There is no turning back. There is always the leap forward. Don't get me wrong, the bandit has a nice choice for light-quick-no bells or whistles ride. It's like you get to sniff her pants but you don't get to see it, touch it, push the bells that whistle kind of you were almost riding one... Butt no, you were wet dreaming a bucking bandit?

I've been reading thems 14's and shewhacking dem busas all up. Solo I followed my nose as I picked the 100% cotton briefs out of my rear wadid it stick a stuck a few bucks down, now let me rush over to thems 14 guys say I'm on one of them there... Were do I stick dis?

I know!!!!

Hey, WATTar the odds, I waited for campro2 to update itself, now I wait for the R to rev up that ABS/Kskid is still the kid in me = notenough HP. Burn the back tire up [is the front wheel], I square the frontire it brakes fandango; you have the wheels under you coming and going.

She that antique you almostook in the shorts.

Mark next time you're at the dealer and a slick talking salesman starts throwing a spell on you. Log on here and we'll snap you out of it. Remember there's nothing like brute power. Just keep saying that in your head. It also works if you start looking at Hondas.

funny thing is i made all that stuff up... that shit never went down. i just wanted to juice things up and see what would happen...

when grn posted the pic of the blue bandit and you hub said something about the guy or salesmen was th bandat i laughed so hard for like 5 mins i thought i was going to crack a rib.

not sure why i ran with it for so long, but the temp in new york went from the mid 40 down to the mid 30 so i guess i wanted to kill some time for the hell of it.

i tryed to give you guys some clues to see if you guys would catch on., like my girl with the slight limp but nobody caught on....and the running lights.

it would take a lot to get 200 hundred out of me, just wanted to juice things up for laughs...better then talking about ring leakaga.... im sure that motor will out live alot of us on here no matter how you brake it in.

but i would do some heat cycles and power runs, anyways short runs just to load the rings... not sure that matters but i break my bikes in that way.
