valve stem diameter
10/20/15 11:47 PM

I know this may seem very elementary to ask and really I wish last time I had a tire off I had gotten my answer.I'm looking to install some angled valve stems as I like the ease of access from using them would offer. However the more I shop for them the one issue that seems best to know is the diameter of the valve stem hole.Seems there is a question to which will fit,be a .24 or .30 as some reviews state most of the angled stems are .24.
May be asking something that's a little odd to expect an answer to,but maybe someone can chime in. My 14 is a 2010 model,Thanks.

Before your criticize someone, walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you do criticize them, you're a mile away and have their shoes.

I know how confusing this is. are we talking about the diameter of the hole size or the diameter of the valve threads. Now it appears we may have an issue with metric v standard. Suppliers of this product sometimes are not knowledgeable to help.

.24 must be .24 inch I'm assuming because it couldn't be metric. I'm accustomed to millimeters for this measurement. The Gen1 ZX-14 has an 8mm hole in the rim for the tire valve. The actual stem measures of a Bridgeport valve 7.6mm so it fits through the hole with just a little slop.

according to worlwidemetric.com, .24 inch is 6.9mm. would easily fit the hole but that is pretty much smaller than the hole. Would the oring seal the hole on the outside? Is the base big enough to seal the 8mm hole in the 14's rim?

.30 inch is exactly 7.6 mm which is what the thread diameter of the stem on a Bridgeport 90 degree valve stem is.......so I would say go with the .30.

Hope they are referring to the thread diameter of the valve and not the hole it's supposed to fit. I would assume it is the thread diameter of the valve since that converts exactly to what a metric valve stem is. Why the hell aren't they using metric if it's metric?

Those are the ones I have for my 14. They work great on the OEM rims but they need some modding for CZ rims.
