Cutting Out
05/19/09 12:30 PM

I've done about 3600 miles on my 09 spec zzr1400 and now find that when I start it up and leave it to reach operating temp its all fine and dandy at first, once up to temp it just cuts out. Starts again easy enough but cuts out again, will only tick over once I have ridden a mile or so. Also found she cuts out when changing down to 2nd, not every time but on the odd occassion, all a bit of a pain. I'm taking it for its 4000 mile service soon but just wondered if anyone has any ideas what is going on with the bike.

Cheers

Pete

ECU? Low Battery? Battery posts loose?

For sure, I would swap the ECU to see if that cuts out the cutting out. Imagine heating all those sensors to spec to see who is screwed up and maybe that sensor not going to show up.

Cheers, took it to dealer and it was just that the tick over was set too low. I didn't realise how easy it was to adjust.

I keep forgetting to add, 'idle low?' As long as it was simple as that... She remains bulletproof.

Pete:

I noticed your join date of 2/10/09. That was just a few days after we opened. If you would like to sharpen up your avatar, you might re-load the image. We added some software to make sharper avatars shortly after we opened, but it looks like yours might have been uploaded earlier.

Just a suggestion... -bg
