Dragking I talked to Jim at competition for a long time on that because my main concern is reliability. I ride 10k a year and will be in way out there places with nothing. So I told him I’d rather have less power and more reliability but he assured me that it will not change. He mentioned going to a 2mm over bore but I really didn’t want any part of that. What he’s doing with the SS head is just improving the Kawasaki head to flow better. That doesn’t affect reliability. He will be milling the head slightly which will give me slightly more compression but nothing crazy. He explained to me that he has many of them out there and I would be fine. He is going to put adjustable cam gears in there and degree the cams which he says show a very nice improvement for sure. The he’s adding 47mm throttle bodies which should be real nice. The bike comes with 44mm. That should be worth about 6HP or slightly more. Once he’s done with the build we’ll install the re flashed ECU from Dynotronics and then head to Dyno Time in Brookfield CT for a full custom map! Man I always seem to get myself into these situations…..I was just doing a simple valve adjustment! Lol but one I was in there I couldn’t see any reason not to make some small changes…O Boy should be a great riding season…..O mid stacks will still be in use.

Dragking I asked the same questions because I wind up riding out in some real remote areas with crap fuel and he told me I'd be fine. If I had to use 87 just don’t lug the motor. He said keep it at high RPMs. I'm not sure what I'm going to do with rear sprockets yet. I was on the gearing web site and it shows that the bike will do 209 MPH with my current 17/42 at 11,000 RPMs and like 214 mph with 17/41 and 219 mph with 17/40. I think it would be better to use the 17/42 so she would have more punch to get there than kind of lug it with the 17/40 combo. I know Brock did it with 17/40 but with my reflash the rev limiter is now at 11500 verse 11000. If I change from the 42 rear it would only be to go with the 41 I think.

The sprocket thing makes sense as well! Are you using racing gas? What's your weight?

I'm about 500 lbs and if they have the fuel there I'll run it for sure!

That's going to be a good power to weight ratio. Make sure you bring the camera etc

Look for Bob C on Bikeland.org
He reached 205 mph with basic mods. He should be able to give you good info.

With the speed limit removed from the ECU, and the rev limit bumped up 800-1,000 rpm in the ECU, a ZX14 with piggy and GOOD exhaust (e.g., CTs) most certainly can go 200 mph.
My brand new 3 days out of the crate 2012 Concours 14 is in my garage. I put her on the sidestand yesterday after a short ride, and as I walked away, it occured to me this bike would never do 200 mph, but then I don't care if it won't do 150 much less 200. Heh.

Well got her back from the dyno and things went real well but I still have some work to do. My tuner did a custom tune and she's running A/F @ 13.1 and she gained 16HP to lay down 208! The only thing is that the power never fell off. I had the ECU reflashed and the flash didn't raise the RPM's like it should have. I talked to the guy that did that and I need to send it back to him. So I should see a few more HP up on top. We did run the bike up to 200 and that part of the flash worked (on the dyno) All in All it should be real sick. Now just have to get her back together so I can ride her....

NICE
You said you gained 16 hp? So your 14 was laying 192 hp before mods? rw?

See, just think for a minute and you're bound to remember some other little $300 item that was overlooked.
oh yes, the LCD CA-CHING +another300
I would like a Saddleman seat
and a NOS
and a progressive controller
and then I'm all done.
that's all I need.

Rook that’s for sure! I just got a big old box of titanium fasteners in including the rear axle nut and all front end parts! The only issue is now I really can’t keep the front end down! lol
