couple of questions about my new 2007 zx14
07/10/14 7:10 PM

well, i recently bought this zx14 2007 with 4.4k miles on it, on the title in 2011 it only had 3k miles???? i just think its weird, well, when i give it a little gas it dont accerate too quick,if i give u a little move it will get up, then when i shut off the throttle all the way it will jerk on me, and feels like something is pulling me back kinda, i have not done the regalur oil,air filter, spark plugs just yet,i know my front rotar is warped, does anyone have any idea, what would be the problem ???

I had an 07 before the 2013. Sometimes they take a second or so until they clear their throat and kick you in the ass. With the jerking when slowing down, it's hard to pick from you description, but check your chain slack is correctly set. A bit of loose chain lash might feel like that. DON'T trust your brakes until you get that rotor replaced.

2006-2007's had a lagging subthrottle on acceleration. The air brakes on lift are no gas, lots of compression to slow you down. That's my guess on your description.

Cures:
1. Replace the ECU with a 2008 model year.
2. Remove subthrottle plates.
3. Install Ivan's faster fly [sub] opening tre.

Seems like the 08 ECU would open the flies quicker but if the flies are already out, no need for the updated Gen1 ECU. The fuel mapping in the 08-12 ECU should be richer from 3.5-6k but below that, you will still have something very close to flies in performance because the fueling will still be for flies in.

If the flies are out and you want to optimize the effect, get a PC on there and get a tune. That will cost about the same as a new ECU, and you will be able to try different maps or have a custom tune for your bike.

Senior moment edit:

1. Update says, change the injectors too that will fit along with the ECU. Those two years run the 440cc's and the '08's ran the 330's. Found that out when I was on the dyno.

LOL, no Jimmy, not gonna help. Listen to what he says. "My subs lag, but then a little more 'it will get up' and I have to hold on. Then I back off of the throttle and the compression/sub slows me down.' I have a crisp throttle response and lots of compression.

biloxi, we sit on the bike, left is left, right is right. Go to the left side of the bike. Look above the foot shifter for a green connector. Are both those matching a green into a green connector? If there is something in between that connector, it could be a tre, maybe. Go check.
