OC (Delmarva) Bike Week
09/12/11 11:48 AM

Leaving Thursday morning for OC MD, for the last 3 days of bike week there.

OC lost bike week, its 20 miles north up the coast highway, and is having their own 3 or 4 day thing in competition.

I'll probably try to see all of it, and get a lot of riding in.

Actually, according to the Delmarva Bike Week website, it doesn't start until day I get there. I was thinking it started yesterday.

Leaving in about 30-45 minutes. Big thunderstorm, weather.com shows it blowing over and clearing to 10% by 10am.

All packed, just have to carry liners out and put them in the Givi side-cases. New Zumo 665 has a non-slab route going and coming. Will be my first time to bluetooth (A2D2 or whatever...) sync both the gps and the mp3.

I'm betting the Schuberth SRC (communication system, integrated into the pads of the helmet) will do that easily, and the new 665 gps is new bluetooth tech so it should be fine too.

My non-slab route will be about 3:30 long, plus gas stops. Piece of cake compared to what I've done earlier in the season.

Then I have a weekend (2-day) with the mc down at Natural Bridge VA two weekends from now, and that pretty much ends the trips for the season.

Looks like winter is coming with a vengeance this time, depending on what El Nino does in the Pacific. Interesting how the weather patterns are connected from the west coast to the east coast, and the artic to the antartic. We humans are just ants on floating debris, and yet we think we are the masters of the world. What a joke!

It rained almost all day Saturday. And was chilly and overcast Sunday. Frankly, you didn't miss much. I'd be surprised if they have it again next year. Might, but its at a time of the year when the weather can be quite unpredictable.
