I can't get this thing to stoppie. Lock and skid is best I can get! So I quit trying before I got hurt.

I could get my bandit to do some fun gnarly stoppies with good roll time. I should try again, was still on stock tires last time I tried it.

Why is it that fast enough is never fast enough.

I straight up need to work on my 'clutch up' wheelies. Usually I'm so spoilt I just grab WOT. Ride a little tiny fuckin 650 today and I could not get that fuckin thing to lift. Nuthin doin. Started clutching her up. That works. Pop out and pull up at same at meaty revs. Works. Kinda wierd at first having to hold left hand funny.

Clutching up is so much easier on the drive train but control is a learned thing!! lol

I always felt I had more control over how quickly it pops up and how high when I use the clutch.

I usually start between 3500-4000 in second and hit that sweet spot, I have no idea where it is when I "pop it", but she just rears up nice and smooth till you say when.

How the hell is clutching it up "easier on the drivetrain"? Sudden force on the chain, the cush drives, the tranny the clutch, not to mention the sudden strain on the motor. I mean, I luvs my wheelies but clutching it up is fairly hard on all those moving parts.

There seems to be that slight transitional difference of clutch feed: that which is not in motion as opposed to motion moving already. Moving is much easier on the drivetrain. Yes?

Wheelies for me. There's some crazy bastard that goes by my house pretty often at least 100 mph while riding a wheelie. Looks like he's standing up, maybe that's easier, not sure. Either way it looks cool.

Standing up is easier for those who ride less powerful bikes and easier to balance.

I slipped off the pegs last summer doing a standup wheelie while I had stitches on ball of my foot!(prob wasn't a good idea in the first place) Haha! I have no idea how I managed to stay hanging on to the bars with my feet dragging on the road while the bike was damn near twelve o'clock and yet get myself pulled back up into the saddle and ride her out! Hahaha I still laugh when I think back to it but I haven't done a standup wheelie since.

I am too tall to do a stand up wheelie on any bike. Look at this guy doing a stoppie on a ZX-14R.

Stoppie was hard enough to do on short-wheelbase and lighter bike. No way in hell am I gonna try it on '14.
Hard landing is VERY hard on front end. More steering head thank forks. The talented one, not I, can set a bike down pretty soft. Out grew wheelies many years ago.
My "trick" now is smooth as possible, which usually translates to fast as possible.
