I got mine down to 449 lb.s ready to ride. Now it's not your average lookin 2014 14R. I kinda had a little accident and I kinda lost some stuff on the way.

Thanks Johnnyo, It'a a real hand full that's for sure, and keepin the front end down is a full time job. This thing rocks. I still need to get a lithium to drop another 5 or 6 pounds

I like it. I may go naked with my 08 some day. Looks like you sorta did a lot of the weight loss mods by default. Only thing I see is mirrors which you could replace with a bar end mirror. Looks mean, that's for sure.

Thanks Rook, A guy that drag races just gave me a lead on a lithium that will save me 10 lb.s. The mirrors are carbon fiber and weigh next to nothin (I was surprised how light they were)

190lbs. Whot!

I'll wager 135, tops and that's light enough to sit on my bike or wherever she wants.

Thanks nasty, most people seem to like it if they're into streetfighter bikes. I appreciate all bikes, ridin since 7, have had a bunch, dirt, street, built a few streetfighter bikes, even a pro-street style custom V-twin. Anyway, thanks.

Thanks Mrwoo, Last Saturday at the local every Saturday bike hang out that usually gets at least 40-80 bikes, I let the ZX=14 guys all sit on it and they couldn't believe how small it felt under them and how light. About 4 or 5 dudes all said about the same thing. Couldn't get over how the size was and the small 600 feel.

Thanks RKtsled, I wanna do something in carbon fiber for the two air intake tubes. What I wanna do is make them "D" shaped with the flat side of the "D" close to the fork tube and then they slowly go to round shape when they go to the frame hole. What I want to do will look more tucked in and better than the stock rubber tubes that are there.

Thanks capt10ed, I always wanted to Streetfighter out a big bike

Thanks knovikov, I got a few more ideas to mabe get a few more off of er, like a lithium battery (8-10 lb.s), do something with the seat (maybe a pound or 2) and then the rear rotor and then a 525 chain, perhaps a smaller 2007 ZX-10 radiator. Other than that, that should just about do it. I could see a 438 lb. bike.

What the pic doesn't show are a few other mods I've done. The seat was cut and padding trimmed for the nuts. Looks much like the aftermarket seats by saddleman but weighs less. Made my own rear subframe and all lights are led. Good luck with your build. Also I've put on a 520 chain with 11k tensile strength. All working well. Now just bought a turbo so weight will go up by 20 lbs.

Lol. Where's hubs bike? I like how he put huge pod filters on his ram air intake tubes.

It's interesting. I'll say that much. I'd like to ride it to feel the weight difference.

I also bet the dash and entire front end being gone causes you to perceive it to be smaller and lighter, as well

Yeah I know Streetfighter bikes aren't for everyone, I'll leave it at that.... I rode around a GSXR 1K without much up front except a small light (no mask at all) and it wasn't fun to ride. Seemed like there was too much missing up front. This one seems about right. Has the gauges up front with the mask and "number plate" and believe it or not at high speed (I've had it up to about 175 MPH so far) I can scoot my butt back and tuck my head down and not get any wind buffeting. It's not bad at all. Just don't sit back up until about 120 or so. I like the riding position especially since I put the Heli bar spacers on, made a difference for the better.

cant believe you guys cut weight by removing the breaks, that's just wrong and all

Has anyone weighted a new 14R? the manual has her at ~587 lbs, amazed you can loose ~135 lbs in fairings, rotors and brackets.

Cruderudy, you need to correct that "you guys" comment, I would never remove brakes unless I was a pro drag racer on a strip, and I say that because I see that other pro drag racers have done it. On, my bikes I will never remove brakes.

Thanks

Well, the fairings are pretty heavy, especially the front with all the brackets and light housing. Then there's the front fender, man that's a heavy hunk of plastic. The wheels are really heavy compared to the BST's. The fans add a bit also. You start addin all that stuff up and it really makes a difference. A lithium will make a big difference also.

I've done up a 2013 ZX-10 (ECU flash, race maps, 186 RWHP, Graves, Ohlins, BST's) and got it down to 390. I still have to get a lithium in it also. It's got BST's and a bunch of stuff taken off as well. Here's a pic before BST's and Ohlins.
