Blue R in th stable
05/19/13 7:26 AM

A few months back my lust for a Tenere 1200 got the best of me and I swapped out my 09 14 for one. The Tenere is one sweet bike and I don't regret getting it one bit. I did find myself less interested in my GSXR 1k and missing the comfort, low end, and smoothness of the 14 any time I rode it. So yesterday I checked online and a shop down the street had a blue 14r on clearance so I swooped down there and made the swap. I think I've got the perfect combination now.

Time to go log some "break in" miles....

Congratulations. Now you'll have a great low end comfort and a top end that will make that 1000 feel like a 750 at best. I had a gixxer 1000 an 06. I loved that bike, but this new 14r is perfect you'll see. When I had my 14r on the dyno and it pulled 201hp with just full exhaust an 2011 gixxer 1000 went after me and pulled 161hp. Me and the other guy couldn't believe the power difference. Good luck and be safe.

That's just the the greens look. See blue is better!

Actually my 4yr old really wanted me to get a green se, but couldn't find one any where. I will say that the first time I saw the blue one it looked like crap, when I drove to the dealer to pick it up they had it outside and it was a nice sunny day. That did it for me! The metal flake and pearl is sexy.

I have to admit the green in the sun crazy!

I dig the green but couldn't find any locally. Today I was able to get in 150 miles and it's a trip breaking this thing in, I can't believe how intense the top end is for a stock bike.

You got the blue?

So sorry to hear that.

Kidding. Blue, black, green......whatever, they all are sharp as hell.

Congrats on getting such an amazing machine. The little woman and I took a long ride today on mine (Green, the fast, showstopper LOL) and I am in awe at how smooth this bike is at 90 mph with both of us on it. Smooth as silk and handles so well with two on it.

Be safe and post photos. And you are another with two bikes, thereby further giving support to me getting a second bike.

Final thought though...

Blue is gorgeous! I mad like, and as Green and ZX man stated, it matters not the colour, it's totally the bike.
Ride hard brotha!

Dam I see all these deals now on this bike and it kills me. I bought my green se when it first came out. So I payed over 15000 out the door in new jersey. Now guys are paying a lil over 12000. Oh well I wanted to be the first to own the beast in my area, so I paid the price I guess.

Is that the blue dragon shoei helmet I see?

I got my bike for $15300 otd, tax title, shipping, assembling, and extended 4 yr warranty last July. Ps, you're insane for having a bike in Joysey. I lived in mt. Laurel as a kid... Missed Ohio a lot lol.

ZX I feel your pain, but you know what bro, every time I look at my stead, and my bulging line of credit, I can't help thinking it was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO worth it. I had to hunt for my green special edition here in Ontario, but I lucked out. Love this dam bike and the green, in my eyes, WOW BRO!
I want to hug my bike every time I walk by her!

My boy Beast has a candy red one, woowweee that one's a looker too! You just can't go wrong with this machine...

Chin up, throttle pinned baby!

Holy sh.t omega I grew up in mt.laurel my whole life. When and where did you live. I grew up in larchmont and graduated from lenape in 93. That's crazy, small world. I hear ya about jersey but where I live in south jersey its much nicer than north jersey. That's where jersey gets it's bad name.

I was there in 6th grade (so 1985/86-ish?) we lived across the street from that huge park on Church street?, I think was the name of the road. I had a teacher, Mr. G. His name was Goluchio or something like that haha

It was culture shock for me coming from the boonies of Ohio. We did make a lot of money going "stomping" in the golf course ponds and selling golf balls to golfers walking by.

However I did to go to Camp Ockanickon while I lived out there, and while I was there it felt like home. I graduated in 1991, but I have a little cousin who graduated in 1996... If you know any Timars out there, its a pretty unique name LOL

Yeah I used to fly into Newark a lot for Disaster Recovery testing (computer geek here) and every time I walked out to get a rental car it stunk. People for years after I quit that company picked up my habit of walking out the door and saying..."MMMM, ass!" hahaha

Yep, that's a blue dragon X11. Being the cheap bastid I am I snagged it on a closeout a while back and it matches the bike perfectly.

I only posted the dealer pics to show the bike in her virginal state, not to make anyone feel bad about the pricing. From what I've seen the green SE's command a bit of a premium. I know when these bikes first came in and real dyno numbers started popping up they were going out quick at msrp and worth every penny. By comparison I scored my '01 zx12 for under $9k OTD. Talk about an under-appreciated ride.

I can't wait to see what comes next. Suzuki needs to take it to the next level...wherever that is.

Nice bike jason. I'm in florida right now as I type this on vaction visting my mom and family. The weather here is killing me. Wish I had my bike. And seeing everyone riding around with no helmets is just nuts to me. And I have never seen so many woman that ride motorcycles as I have seen down here.

The folks riding without helmets are nuts as far as I'm concerned. I spent about two hours this morning in a torrential downpour during my commute...loving every minute of it on the tenere!

I gave $13,975 OTD for my green 2012 last August.

I see now that was a rather good deal, seeing as how I also got a VERY good tradein value on the Z1000 I traded in on it.

I love the green with the flames, but that blue has its own appeal, as well. Ride that monster with pride.
