Good Videos

You guys might have seen these videos. I think there are 5 where 4 bikes are rode across Europe at WOT. If they can take that kind of abuse I know I can't hurt em!

Video #3: Showed me I should have grabbed a green 12. Not that the 14 is a slouch. Now I know why the Busa BS being the fastest should open their eyes with the constant roll-ons. Busa has the bottom end and they can boast about that all day long is that is all they got.

Video #5: Shows you how stable that 12's front end is. Watch it come down after a wheelie. Nothing! It does not shake it's head coming out of turns or braking for them. The guy's hands and feet are moving all over between shifting, rear brake work, front brake work, clutch yank, throttle twisting and she is planted straight as an arrow.

I did not see an oil light come on the dash with the wheelies pitched that high for that long. The 12 could stay up with the Busa? In the tight stuff, Busa with the bottom end will get you... Sans a good rider. But, come a long straightaway >> HP rules.

Are they decent riding hooligans? Yes. Road racers with decent lines? No. The more we uncork the HP from stock, would the Busa exceed the 12, mod for mod, we never remover a valve cover? 4-skin and 10 years ago, I've been (((Earring))) that Busa BULLSHIT for so long.

Bringit! Tell me who is King. I'll get, j-ray, to remove the sheet from behind year ears; everyone is on the same page. Is this enough evidence?

Glad you enjoyed the video's Hub. My brother wanted a green 12 bad. About a year back we found a used one at a local dealer an rode up to look at it. It looked stock an the dealer let him test drive it. And he said I could follow him on my busa. Well there was an interstate nearby so we tried them out. Even with my brother out weighing me the 12 pulled away in all the roll ons we tried. I'm glad he didn't buy it.;-)

It was so stable in the air, did you see him wheelie between a car was it? You see those a fat Busa come down, they tank slap and you are done. Here comes the tarmac. I would have rewind to see the 12 come back down, but it looked to me to be more stable and maybe lighter? I would have to answer my own question searching the weight between the 2. Imagine if the 12 was heavier and still pulling away.

Maybe a BeemeRR might take out the 12 in the short run, but to keep a big number up there, it is going to take more than 1000cc's or it could be here today? 600cc way back when, could never have the HP numbers it has today when it first came out. It's just a slow evolution of power climb through the years or R&D and so many shelved engine designs. Same as saying, 'speed is relative' we blow away any speed we used to know. The speed we attain this quick is like nothing now. I need more speed is that need. No one knows how fast man can move on a bike, let alone 140 on one wheel, for miles on end. 200 down the road on one wheel will be just as relative. I won't be around to see it, I'm just saying.

Here is where you can watch the entire video.

http://video.google.co.uk/videoplay?docid=2273051835443208591#

Here is Fastbikes Mach 2. Same type of video, but done with a few older/smaller bikes thrown in.

I used to have both of these vids on VHS. I can't find them anywhere on DVD. If anyone has a DVD copy, I'll pay top dollar for them.

Yeah you re missing out Hub!!!!! In a nutshell they were debating a philosophical question that is as old as racing... the TT is arguably the most dangerous race because of its speed and location (public road) and has seen 200 or 300 deaths (don't remember) since its creation. The question the reporter was raising is... Should people be allowed to put their life in danger for the sake of the pursuit of happiness and freedom or should the TT be stopped. Agostini was quoted for saying that TT gave him the most pleasure although it's the most dangerous "track" he's been on. We all know that the difficulty which is synonym to danger in racing is what make the race enjoyable.

HUB or anybody? I have found this video on the french moto web it's also on your tube: Ghilli man draggin his helmet going fast. I am too lazy to look into how to post videos. Man that's riding... and that's from a guy that wouldn't probably last 1 min in the TT. RACERS ARE BORN!!!!

It was a 3 or 4 year old Honda that won the TT this year or lets say, old enough. It's always the rider if that says anything. Same names showing up on the same podium year after year. And they finish the race. You know the chances either way. So if you know the odds, let that asshole who gets in the way of shutting it down is go in the corner and jerk the fucouch off or something. These are games for men and I think they already concluded whatever that faggoat is screaming about. None of their business about closing down a sport.

Shut the fucking ball sports down. I should go around screaming no kid with a ball. Bike or go to your room!

lol The reporter just raised the question and tried not to lean either way (good journalism). The way the dialogues went you could tell he loves racing. I think it was done in an effort to help non-riders understand why people take on so many risks.
It's always the rider if that says anything

I don't mean to digress but why then in moto gp for instance Rossi went from dominating to a second thought. People expected him to do the same thing he did at honda and yamaha! Is the Ducati so hard to ride or is Valentino not as good as we thought-The doctor won 9 times!

Rossi has raced since what year, 3, 2? Now in his 30's? They peak young. Rossi is getting older. That leg can work on your laps. It's a matter of running 100% in the head or nature comes after either way. I'd say it's bike, sure if you bring something like this up. But, I was more in the generic as you watched Rossi jump on whatever bike and win. It's that young spirit that gets you up front or sheer will. I have no clue, don't pin me down. It just happens if you make it happen is how it can work if you need to pin it down. Back to the mind game in your head.

I agree! Most extreme athletes peak is btw 25-30 sooner for bike racers. Just like too many losses too many wins rid you of the eye of the tiger. I may be an idealist but I really hope he can win on the ducati just for him to prove how great he is. However, the leg and the shoulder may have been too much for him.

Well, we are back to injury and how much is a year gone by and then another before you finally recover. You can still be up there and over your prime. Look at how Rossi now warms up to the front. If you are a hard charger, you do not need coaxing to move up.

It was so funny to see Schwantz roll into the pit at some Japanese 8-hour and Pops telling him to slow down. Definitely, that spirit has to be there and being young helps. If you heard the duc team mentioning about how they want Rossi to qualify well so as not to struggle heading up there? He qualified 6th, right? 5 more spots to go.

He's probably working that bike way too much in his head. I've ridden a Pazo a long time ago. If they still have that front tuck theory or quick front end steering, it's a handful at speed I would imagine. It spooked me with just a swing around the block.

Some can ride those well, others struggle in the middle and some just toss them away if they do not listen to the front. Kind of hard to explain that one. If you want to go back to that cash window you where referring to, talk about being in the middle, you should have 10 years of racing behind you. You come along all green start with 0 racing. Say the young racer back then was 16 years old starting out. You enter 10 years later?

Remember the reference of a 3 year ~ Make-You-Break-You [window of time] that says it all? First you need to get over that hump. Say the 16 year old is already in the pro division. It will take you those 3 years at least to figure out the game. And you need that all important push. Push in the debrief. Push from the fans. The push in yourself. That 16 year old is now in his mid 20's [10 years later] still at it. How about now and the rotation now is around 2 or 3 years old you are bringing home trophy or you are not going to make it under the big tent ala, Rossi.

Pedrosa with the broken shoulder is young. Jorge is young. Stoner is in his prime as are the others in their mid 20's. Rossi you don't count out the professor for a few here and there. He's going on 33, so you have a 7 year gap of experience vs. The drive for the front.
