Does anybody have one? I'm thinking about trading my ZX-14 for one.

Pretty slow and heavy. Why not a Connie?

The "Connie" is hideous.

Mine's not. It's badass.

Although it's a bit heavy and bulky. But still lighter and faster than a Honda.

I'm actually thinking about another Goldwing 1800, it doesn't get much better than a wing.
At 53 I'm caring less about going fast and thinking more about comfortable miles.

Sil, Believe it or not, first bike I feel in love with was the first year GL1000. Saw that bike evolve up to yr 2000 and then left the industry. From flat-4 to to flat-6, it just became even smoother and more refined. Lots of std bells and whistles. Handles I hear and I doubt you can get any better than that... Who said that?

A honda if touring is going to be the speed. I would have bagged up if it was a gear drive 120tq kind of 14, but the torque is so low with 2up and gear.. GL has the better comfort zone and will do it a lot better. Who said that? GPS and bluetooth'd ready no doubt. That would be more the bagger of choice is the GLine.

Well guys, I traded the ZX-14 for a super clean Silver 2007 Goldwing 1800 with only 13,600 miles.
I had a 2004, so I already knew how sweet they are.(I was soured by it though because it was in the frame recall)
This 2007 Wing has Electric Cruise (of course), Heated Seats & Grips, Premium Audio with I-Pod Hook Up, GPS, and ABS Brakes
The ZX-14 is an awesome bike, but I came to the realization that I needed more comfort.
I want to apologize to everyone for being a pinhead about the ZX-14, I guess I had some buyers remorse.
Ride safe and try not to get arrested. I'll post a pic of the Wing when I'm able.

Sounds good man. If any of you are on facebook, like Bobz Bikz page and you will see me with my Wing.
They always post your pic when you buy a bike from them.

I don't do FB, and I work weekends, but I'm always up for a ride. look me up if you get a chance. eightonesixfivethreesixfourzeroseventhree.

I ride with wings. I'll even ride with hardleys, if they don't dress up like Pirates.

Lol. Yeah I had a 2002 Wide Glide, but I'll never understand the "dress up like it's halloween to ride" thing.

One of the reasons I never cared that much for a big Honda....I mean...they look cool and all...great road bikes...BUT...they feel so darn 'user friendly'...shift quality....ride quality.Doesn't appeal to me.I guess what some others have said....no personality(which I know is subjective)....but still...the Kawi has a certain edge to it.A certain...primal feel.teensy vibrations at times...kinda grabby shifting sometimes....but it FEELS like a beast...not a cookie cutter clone. That feel when goin down the highway just says..."I'm bad.I can handle anything.Ride me".

I was thinking about getting a Goldwing FB(I think that's what it is)I watched a review of it on youtube...I mean...the rider was pretty stoked. Then I realized...it looks and acts like one of those 'scooters'...you know the ones...smooth....easy clutch feel shifting...all the stuff a couch potato would want. Not for me...(I decided). But it did...it looked like an overgrown scooter you'd see in some "This is the life"ad or somethin.

Congrats on yer Goldwing...be safe and have fun...that's what it's about anyway;)As for a Harley...don't get em startedLOL!!!I'll definitely take a Goldwing over a Harley ANY DAY;)

We were on a group ride and a guy shows up on a Wing with full leathers and knee pucks. Well he spent the say chasing all the sport bikes and keeping up too. He was hanging off like a deranged monkey. Turns out his wife demanded a comfy bike for touring and he was a die hard sport rider. These new Wings actually handle really well for such a big bike. We were impressed and he was having fun.

Yeah, the Goldwing 1800 is no slouch in the performance & handling department. People that haven't ridden one would really be surprised. I had mine up to 130 on the way home yesterday.

It is a sweet bike...enjoy!;)Since you have ridden the 14...can you give a comment on the difference in ride quality?I mean basically...the amount of vibration(s)if any?Buzzyness....stuff like that.I am very curious about this aspect of the Wing.I know you made your choice...but if you could,be as honest as possible(not that you wouldn't)..so I hope I haven't offended you in asking this.;)

The Wing's flat six engine is sewing machine smooth and the ride quality is as good as it gets.
The rear suspension is electronically adjustable from 0 to 25, and you can have 2 preset positions.
The Goldwing 1800 is pretty much a large sportbike, the handling is truly phenomenal.
My sons have even commented that I'm taking the curves faster with the Wing than I was with the 14.
The Wing has awesome comfort, handling, and power. You should test ride one, you will be amazed.
