Any differences between the US and euro models of the 14
01/22/13 5:43 PM

Besides... ZZR and ZX
Interested In getting the SW Motech blaze side bags

But..... US distributor (T/Throttle) says there is no application for the 2012 zx14r or any year
Zx14 ??????

SW Motech has it listed on their chart as ZZR1400. 11-
And has it pictured in the product gallery installed on a 12 ZZR1400
Being a little confused, went ahead and emailed the source,,they replied yes it will fit the 2012
With no problems, but unsure about the US model.. It might have differences and that my US distributor
Can answer my question more readily (not)

So back to my question.... Are there major differences between the euro and US models especially the arse end..
For my naked eye they both look the same, and my logic says,, if it fits the 12 ZZR why wouldn't it
Fit the 12 ZX ??
Thanks for your thoughts in advance

The ZZR has a helmet mechanism on it...which operates from the side of the rear frame....don't know if that would affect a US fitment?

From what I understand the 06-11 SW motech racks fit the 12- USA bikes, just a clearence issue with dropping the mufflers a bit to clear the v35 givi panniers. The mounting bolts are all in the same position including the rear pegs where the bags rod on the Blaze would tie in. Hope that helps.

From the images on their web page it appears that these bags would fit perfectly. As you mention, they're being displayed on a 2012 model and it doesn't seem to have any affect with the subtle differences between the Euro and NA model. Even the Euro model is shown with the rear passenger grab handle removed and the accessory top case base installed. So essentially you'd just remove the rear seat cover on the U.S. model and that's it.

I'd say the U.S. distributor just hasn't had enough requests for this item or experience with it to make the definite call as to whether it fits the 2012 model. If you're in the market I'd certainly give it a try.

Thanks foR the input gents....I'm sure it will fit, but with the response that I've received from the distributor and manufacturer,, kind of cooled off the want factor.. Will revisit in the spring

The Corbin bags really look great on the ZX14, however the prices are so out of this world, no one can really afford them, and if they are painted to match the bike, they almost look like they came out of the crate from Kawasaki!

Do you mean the luggage hooks, Grn?

You can see the *luggage hooks* here at the 3:15 mark.

Yeah, I was wondering where those were on the bike I got. Those would be nice to have.

I love cranking this promo video up and basking in the pride of owning this *Flagship model* beast of a bike.
