Ultra thin clearcoat and color

Just a note of warning. If you have a scuff or small scratch and want to use something like rubbing compound it get it out, be ULTRA careful with how much pressure you apply/ how deep you go.

Cause before you know it, you'll be all the way through and will start to see plastic, and it'll be screwed up looking then, needing that spot painted and cleared, again, then.

Sometimes a very small abrasion is better left alone.

I was able to get almost all of a small scuff outta my $$$$ side cowling from when the bike went over recently, but learned from experience when to stop and let it be.

The paint and clearcoat are so thin on these bikes.......

I'm always very careful, but thanks for the reminder.
I normally use a scratch and swirl remover rather than a cutting compound. It might take a little longer but it leaves you with a perfect finish, plus the extra time it takes gives you a chance to wonder if it's going to be too deep. Just like you said.
