what size for o2 bung?
08/29/09 11:07 AM

I want to get a bung welded in for an o2 sensor, at some time in the future. Can some one tell me what is the size of the bung that I would need for DynoJet's Autotune system?
Thanks
Sharkey

Power Commander uses a Bosch Wide Band O2 sensor that is 18mm x 1.5

FWIW, I would make sure that the bung is the same material as your pipes. The one that comes with the kit is mild steel. I know this because I called Power Commander and asked. I found a 304L SS bung on Ebay for about $6.00 shipped, but the vendor only had one SS bung. They usually run between $5.00 and $8.00, but the shipping stinks from most of the vendors.

If you need a TI bung, go to Bazzaz and bring your American Express, it is about $60.00

I hope that this helps...

Hi BlkMax,
That's just the info I need. I know that the headder is 400 series SS and now I know the size.
My wife used to live in Wasilla, for about 10 years (before moving to Hawaii.) I recall a rivermouth near there with great salmon fishing. The people were nice and it wasn't "combat" fishing like it can get. Lots of space to ride too.
Well, thanks again,
Sharkey

Hi Sharkey

pretty much any automotive speed shop should have the O2 bung in stock in stainless, the shop I stopped into had a quantity them in a cardboard box loose under the counter, they are a very standard common size and apparently a common item. Mine was $6 Canadian.

Sharkey,
Glad I could help.

Laverda,
All I can say is that it must be nice to have a speed shop that stocks parts for anything but a Chevy 350.

Yo BlkMax,
I see you have a 2008 bike with a PCV attached. I was going to do that but Power Commander didn't recommend it. They didn't say it couldn't be done. So apparently you have one with auto tune and it is working OK for you? Let me know ASAP cause I've got a good deal, on a PCV &AT hanging in the wind.
Thanks Sharkey
