Hey guys I would like to share my near miss story in the hopes that it might prevent a possible accident for anyone else . While I was on vacation in Nova Scotia I parked my bike in front of a restaurant. When I came back out, it looked as if my bike was moved but after looking around I thought it was all in my head. I started the bike as usual and pulled out with a bit of a jack rabbit start and brought the bike up to around 45mph. This is were things go really bad. Up ahead a car jams on the brakes for a yellow light. No biggy right? When I reach the car in front of me I pull the front brake lever........ I have NO FU>>ING BRAKES..... Not some, I have None. At the time I was close to the center lane so I pulled wide into oncoming traffic....While hitting the back brakes I go through the intersection and almost got into a head on and a side swipe all at the same time .... It turns out that while I was in the restaurant someone had back into my bike and bent my right front rotor. The rotor was not bent enough to be noticeable while the bike was parked, but just enough to push the pistons back in and move the pads away from the wheel. No matter how many times you pump the brakes there is nothing. When the bike is moving, No front brakes, but while parked all works great. This was a FIRST for me ...... Next time things don't look right I will pay better attention. To say this scared the shit out of me would be a under statement. The guy I was riding with was also in shock. This one almost cost me dearly. To make matters worse when I got the bike over to the side of the road all the people who saw what happened gave me the finger... I guess from there point of view it looked like blowing the lights ..... Not a Good Day.
