Mounting Brocks/Ohlins drag shock reservoir
04/24/13 4:08 PM

I have a Brocks/Ohlins drag shock and the resevoir is set up to mount to the passenger peg/ exhaust hanger bracket. I want to remove the hangers and I do not want to resort to band clamps.

Saw this today on Brock's website. It features Roland Sands bmw s1000rr build that has a Brocks/OHlins drag shock. Very clean, slick mounting of the reservoir. Any idea of where these parts would come from?

It appears the piece between the reservoir and frame rail is Energy Suspensions shock reservoir isolator. Now the question is what are the bands? They almost (let the laughing begin)look like vaccum cleaner belts.

My first thought, exactly!

Get some chunks of pine on a band saw and cut some blocks out. Wood is not a widely used automotive material but it's lightweight, cheap and easy to work with...and it's durable. Sand and paint it, nobody will know. Then go to Sears and find the right vacuum cleaner brush belt.

I love those adjustable shocks so much, there is no way I could put that on my bike without havingthe setup perfectly immaculate. Do what you have to do for now but I'd be looking for some way to fab up a bracket that was fastened by the stock passenger peg bracket mount bolts. Maybe buy a used foot peg bracket off Ebay and cut the bullet mount off. Then you would need to weld on a plate and drill holes to mount to the frame.
