Whats the best bang for the buck in the exhaust department? I prefer the looks of a single exhaust system and I've visited brocks website. I know they provide great performance but is there a better performance value alternative?

Yoshi twin system. Arata 4 into 1 will lose you midrange. Any 4 into 1, I suppose. Better at the top, but how often do you go there? Easier to clean the chain area with 4-1. I should have stuck with 2 pipes. Also each has their own opinion, but I have raced lotsa street zx14's, and the twin systems pull better on roll-ons. 2 bro's also OK. From 2nd gear race above 6k the 4-1 should outperform a twin system, but for general riding, two is the number.

Thanks for the input man but what do these systems weigh and what kind of numbers do they generate? I'm also looking for value aka bang for the buck. As for my riding style I go there(up top) quite often actually on an everyday per ride basis.

I would say the TOP 4-2-1 systems would be Brock, Muzzy, Tsukigi, and Tiforce/Orient Express. (that’s just my opinion) These are the exhaust that one would see in AMA Super Sport. The Brock's alien head system looks and performs awesome, but just look out for the HOT pipe around the peg, because you will burn yourself if not careful.

Brock's streetmeg or alienhead. Can't be beat. There is a reason all the racers use Brock's pipes

If you're still looking a full exhaust system on a budget, I just saw a tiforce/orient express for 750.00 shipped that made 193 hp on the dyno.

Brock says (and posts the dyno charts) their CT-DUAL dual exhaust makes more horspower and torgue than any other exhaust they sell. The Muzzy (2009 spec) 4-1 makes close to as much power.
Frankly, since I don't race, it comes down to what I like the look and sound of mostly, because I won't notice 3 HP difference. Heh.

I honestly think if the system looks good to that person, sounds good, and in their budget, that’s what really counts. At the end of the day get what you like!

........Except a sidewinder.
I would venture to guess it is worth it because if you look at the dyno chart, the CT has a 7 hp gain in midrange as well as a small gain in peak hp over the A-head which has always been a fav drag pipe. Seven hp is worth 700 extra bucks.
Also, they are making the CT single in a shorty now and it looks great. Sounds great from a clip I heard, too, just not as loud as an A-head. The single looks like it makes about 1 less peak hp but a few more between 4.5K - 5.5K.
Does anyone want to buy a Cannon? Brand new, never installed.....ceramic coated??

Oh sheesh, I was half joking....sorta. I have been toying with the idea of selling. Lemme check on the price of the CT meg. I won't install until I know if I want to keep it. I'll pm you tomorrow.
I have a Cannon for my busa and it just seems a bit redundant to put the same exhaust on both bikes. Same bike same mods. lol

Yes sir I do! I just finished it like 30 minutes ago. It freaking sounds great, I wish my PC was in so I could ride it! While I had it all tore down I also decided to pull the flies. All I know is I sure hope that shit is worth it 4 of them rounded off and it turned into a freaking nightmare . I also installed my fender elimenator, now I'm just waiting on my PC HIDs and my hugger.

well man those pictures tell so much about what can happen when trying to do something simple (yea right) Question did you use shop vac to get out all the metal shavings and which method did you use to heat the screws torch, soildering iron and did you warm up the bike before you did the work. Also if that's the only blood you shed while owning this bike that alone will be worth it. Maybe you can post your pic of the flies in the fly removel problems thread so guys can see what they may be up aginst when doing this mod. Ride safe ...xxxes

I guess I got lucky on my 14 when I took my flies 2 weeks ago. I had majors problems taking my flies out on my zx10. I used a magnet and a shopvac to clean out my TB on my zx10. It's ok to ride you bike down the street and back w/o a PC. Just be careful because that bike's a beast now!
I just used aGOOD Phillips head screw driver on my zx14 and here is how it turned out.

so far that is the only blood i have shed and I hope it stays that way lol. I didnt start the bike and it because i already had it all torn down including the headers. I did however use the blocw torch method which worked awesome on 4 of them. I even bought an $20 8 in screwdriver! Yea I used a shop vac and an extendable magent to get it all out. I wonder how much differnce an aftermarket filter will make because my stock one isnt the cleanest and is thick as heck.

I've used K&N and BMC (race) in my bikes, but was wondering about the pipercross filter.
Here is a dyno chart from Schnitz racing.
ZX-14 BMC Race (26) vs Stock Filter (28)
