Matte Black Dashboards against gloss fairing

http://www.ebay.com/itm/2012-KAWASAKI-ZX14R-ZX14-ZX-14R-NEW-RH-INNER-COWLING-TRIM-FAIRING-/181023661678?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2a25d9de6e&vxp=mtr#ht_2209wt_1176

I am considering putting the flat/matte black dash boards on my green 2012. Anyone else change their colored dashboards for the black? If so, how do you like em?

I think the contrast of gloss green surrounding fairing as against the flat black dash will really pop and look great. I love the green, but in changing I'd also be replacing the busted tab green dash panels I've got, as well. (ha)

Parts Pit Stop has em for $44 each.

I usually like to stay stock, but I have already changed the exhaust and put on a PCV, and I now am starting to realize that over time you become complacent with the same ol, and gradually start to want a change, here and there.

I think it'd look alright.I thought about the same thing...even changing the side panels to the gloss black ones(like the EURO bikes).Nah....I'll keep mine stock bodywise....but those parts would look good as well.

Yeah, I also considered the side panels (forman grills) in black, but I think I'd regret that. Another green 2012 14 R owner around here has made that change and it looks OK, but presonally I prefer the all green fairingwork down teh side.
But just the dash being matte black may look pretty sharp.

Our bikes in Oz come that way standard, I prefer the contrast in colours!

ZXMAN64,

I going to have to disagree with you on this one I think having it all match is the way to go. A matter of fact I'm going to paint mine over the winter as well as the little fins on the fender. But I would love to see the photos of the finished project when your done.

really, I like the Euro model better myself. Green and Black, makes the bike look way slimmer. All green is just too much green. Black is one of the few colors (actually is not even a color) that can pull it off. The whole green thing looks too cartoonish/childish to me. That being said I'm just nitpicking none of the colors are bad per say!

If you are uncertain, just get some spray plasti dip and spray it. Give it a few coats, try them on for a few weeks and if you change your mind, it just peels right off with the color underneat protected.

Motorcycles are perfectly safe, as long as you don't fall off and you don't get hit by anything...

I think it would be a good mod. I find it distracting, all the bright green around the instrument cluster.
