Well, after searching and searching, for literally prob the past 3+ years, debating just about every Japanese and Euro sport or sport tour bike out there, I finally pulled the trigger on a 2024 Yamaha MT-10 SP. Some of the decision was due to my 2 buds who both have them and rave about them. Now, after just one 2.5-hr ride here are some random initial observations: It's interesting. Not sure I love it, but def interesting. Still on break-in, so maybe it will grow on me, but for now I'm calling it "OK". The up/down quick shifter is very nice, can really haul ass accelerating with it! The sound is nice. The 120 lb lower weight vs the ZX is very nice; the MT feels like a dirt bike for the street, compared to the ZX of course. Good god this mostly black bike has so many damn nooks and crannys to get splattered with bug guts and covered in dust, it takes waaaay longer to clean than the big white ZX which with just a quick wipe of the front it looks almost new again; I always keep the ZX very clean; I could see me having to let some of that go with the MT. Its looks are crazy; not sure I love that aspect, either ... sometimes, and some angles, I think "Awesome" but then others I think "Meh" I'm hanging on to the ZX, for now. I'll give it some mileage, and maybe even a trip to the NC mountains to decide whether she's a keeper.
Possibly a face not even a mother could love??
