has anybody changed the headlight bulbs? mine look too yellow and I'm looking for the type of light bulbs that will give a whiter light.

I installed DDM HIDs on mine and am quite pleased. $50 bucks for two bulbs and related hardware... took an hour to install.

do you need to install a hardware to replace a light bulb? I'm looking for just a light bulbs that can be change in minutes without modifying or installing anything else on the bike...is this possible?

I used sylvania silverstars in the past on non projector housings, same wattage as stock, throws the same amount of light as stock.... no brainer drop ins
it's not 100% white like HID but makes a noticeable difference with stock bulbs

there's someone on here with PIAA, that are really close in looks to HID but I believe they are also a higher wattage

65 Watt PIAA Platinum bulbs the only way to go on the ZX14r...tried HID, thought they would be the ticket...NOT so..they don't focus and break up the light so you don't have a good safe pattern on the roadway...

The Kawasaki projector lens don't lend themselves to light beam focus with HID....get the Platinum babies and you won't believe your eyes...about 48.00 a pair.....I put highs in my low beam sockets so all 4 bulbs are exactly the same brightness...just modify one locking lug, and the vertical plastic lock inside the female plug and you are good to go.

do you know what is the wattage of the stock ones? I think someone in another forum said 35w, if it is 35w, is it safe to use 65w light bulbs instead?

It is 55w for low beam on the 2012.

so if the 2012 comes with 55w bulbs I dont think it will be a good idea to put 65w bulbs because it will blow a fuse.
Question: the h11 is for low and the h9 is for the hight right?
is the h9 a 55w bulb also?

High beams are 65w from the factory.

I've run 65w bulbs on 55w circuits on my older bikes. Worst that happened was the bulb plug got a little warped from the additional heat.

I'm going with the PIAA 55W 'Night-tech' lamps.Ordered mine today as well.55's the lowest wattage for the factory lamps...so no worries on taxing the system.They look pretty good.According to them...55W=110W from a conventional bulb.Should be quite brite.

I bought a set of the PIAA bulbs for my 2007 an I was not happy with them an then made the jump to the DDM's. I paid around $200.00 for the bulbs an now for the 2012 ZX14r that's what I paid for the DDM's. So that my findings with the bulbs vs HID's. I would go for the DDM's an that my I know that by going with the DDM'S you will lose the (Pass button)

But if you want to go the I'm tired of looking at these bulbs set on my shelf so if you want I will sell them to you or anybody who wants them.

I don't know how many Kelvin they are...but they're whiter than the stock lamps...and if they're putting out 110W...I would imagine they're brighter as well?IDK...never used em...but I'm giving em a shot here.We'll see.Hell...the stock ones really aren't bad at night...I didn't really think so.Just wanted to have something a bit whiter...basically...that's all.

The price is right the only thing I could not find the same light bulbs in H9 so I'm affraid if I want change low and high I will have to use two different piaa model numbers.Do you know any other model that will come in H11 and H9 so the color of the light bulbs will be the same?

I bought 4 of those 55Watters.All the same.All high beam...I would imagine?It was the PIAA number for the H-11.$139.00 for 4...that included shipping.Aloha...it may be a bit before I can install...my new bike isn't here yet...most likely...on the assembly line...or the slow boat;)IDK.

You don't need to worry about heat on the lenses...that glass inner lens will block most of the direct heat from the beam.That's not going to break.Then you have that good several inches between the glass projector and the outer lens itself.It won't melt anything.

USE PIAA hi and low beams for all 4 receptacles! Just modify one tang on the light lens base, file it down so it will fit inside the lens receptacle, use a razor knife cut the male projection inside the female plug and it goes right on the bulb...now you have 4 high beam bulbs up front putting out 260 watts of Platinum bright white light......I get 14.2 volts on my ammeter gauge and I have the zumo 550 radar detector, Mix It amp, and my Iphone plugged in being charged full time...

You will love this upgrade...way better than HID...the projector beams do not allow proper beam light focus with HID, I was sorry to find that out...but the PIAA's are the way to go if you want to see way down the road and have all the cagers see you so they don't make those left hand turns in front of you...
