What is the purpose of this rubber bumper facing rear and attached to the passenger rear set top bolt?

I believe it can mount the optional grab handle for the assisted lift handle when deploying the center stand

Call them plugs, beauty buttons. Symmetry is the name of the game. Some bikes come with a centerstand. Others do not and this is how they addressed the installed hand grip that is a tube of knurled aluminum. The right plug remains in place.
