C14 Concours Seat
02/12/12 10:03 PM

A quick introduction before my question, I'm currently riding an 08 Concours and looking to purchase a 2012 ZX-14. I've always had supersports, ZX-11, ZZR1200, etc. and turned them into sport tourers. My question is, will a seat from a Concours fit on a 2012 ZX-14? I know it will swap with a 2011, did they change the seat for 2012?

Thanks for any help.

Probably. The seat shape and foam was changed on the new bike...but I think the seat pan has remained the same.I don't have any more zx14 or concours seat pans here...or I'd check it for ya.It 'looks' the same to me.HOWEVER....you WILL have to switch that concours center latch 'hook' mechanism for the zx14 'post style' latch deals. The hooks will not work.I'll say this right out....on my 07...I changed out the seat for the concours. On THIS new bike...there was NO NEED to do that. They DEFINITELY got this new seat RIGHT.ALL DAY COMFORT...even surpassing the Concours IMO.And I loved my concours seat on my 07 14.

Thanks for the help.... I have two Concours seats, one is stock and the other is a Russell. I'll see how comfortable the seat is before selling the Russell.

Hey smitty,
Any thoughts on the seats? I am getting ready for a 10 hour trip and am kicking around a c14 seat.

If anyone else has thoughts on this I would appreciate any feed back. I am also considering a sargent, but then I have the quondery of low or regular, how they feel. Options make things hard lol

I've had 24 motorcycles, and have had several Corbin seats. They are normally hit and miss. They work on some bikes, and not so much on others. The Corbin on my 14R is the best seat i've ever had. My buddy with a 14R agreed completely when he went from his bike to mine. The best part was that I didn't have to buy a new Corbin when I went from my 07 14 to my 14R. Some of my buddies laugh at me, but i'm running an Alaska Leather pad on my Corbin on long rides. My ass smiles. It is the hot set up.

Look around and you should be able to score a used Corbin for around $300.
