5mm Front Caliper Spacers
06/19/15 6:34 AM

I did not think it would be the difficult, but I am trying to find 5mm front caliper spacers for 2014 ZX14R without having them custom made/modify or buying them as a kit with bolts. The only ones available all have a dowel lip, I need flat on both sides.

Dimensions are:

5mm thick
10mm ID
25mm OD
Flat on both sides

yoyodyneti.com/ProductInfo.aspx?productid=70.4502 these would be good, but Yoyodyne is out of them.

Any ideas?

Hope that someone on here has a lathe and will turn a few out for you.

These might work. Check out step 32 and 36. These came with my CZ 13" rotors. Looks like they are about 5mm. I could measure for you if you want, let me know.

(BTW, those are the TI caliper bolts.)

I'm not sure what you mean by "dowel edge." These are some kind of hard plastic on the outside and they have a thin metal inside. they are flat where they fit against the bracket and the caliper....no stepdown insert if that's what you mean by dowel edge.

I guess you would not want to rig your brakes with stuff that might fail but wouldn't steel washers work just fine?

Have a good Fathers Day, roadczar and everyone!

Hey Rook,
If they are in fact 5mm spacers I would be very interested.

Yes, stacking washers will work, but a single spacer would be more rigid (and more my style) :). I already have the correct length TI bolts.

Happy Father’s Day to all!

Ordered from this guy:

He will custom machine them for $20 shipped to US. Did not think this would be such a hassle...

No friends in a machine shop around you?

$20 shipped for T6 is a good deal but it surprises me no one around Chi-town could hook you up with 10 minutes of machine time.

The CZ spacers I have are 5mm. The stock bolts should work. I do not believe the Ti ones I have are any longer than stock.

Thanks Rook. I ordered 65mm PROTI bolts, stock are 60mm. As a side note I'm really impressed with PROTI. I have never seen fasteners done to this level. They are of jewelry quality.

That's what you call some fancy bolts. I don't even want to look at the price.

They are. I'm using them only for the critical components - rotors and calipers. The rest are cheap Chinese versions :)
