Not sure if someone did a post like this before. Just curious as to everyone's max speed on their 14 or other bikes. I did 110 on the first day in operation of my new 14R, touched 120 a few times since, but it's just after break in at this point.

My max overall is 160 mph on a ZX-12R, I plan to break that at some point this spring on the 14R, probably out in the desert someplace.

First time I had a go I backed off at 250klm then the next time I got upto 290klm before I backed off and haven't tried to beat it since, not forgetting the speed limit here is only 100klm

Hypothetically speaking 292kmh but hoping to smash 300kmh in April(18-28th) The NT has an open speed free Trial between Alice Springs 200kms to Barrow Creek wifes gunna Video me + will have one on the instruments! I will strike no.2 off my Bucket list then

about 170 mph on both bikes (not at the same time). I got video and looks like my 14 hits about 167 at 10K rpm with my gearing. I estimate she will do 180 before redlining. It's getting harder to do that kind of speed because of police and animals. Right after that 167 mph run last summer I saw a deer run across the road right after and also saw a cop come from the opposite direction.

I've banged the speed limiter a couple times. 187. Now I have no speed limiter, maybe one day I'll shoot for 200 but the risk from wildlife is too great. Deer turkeys pheasant coons and sometimes livestock, not worth it.

If you hit a roo at 190...you won't feel anything anyway;)...190's my top so far...but she'd most likely hit 200 at sea level...pretty sure of that.

Hit 183 on GPS and it was hitting my limiter (before I had my ECU reflashed)...

I lay claim to 160, but I have no proof :(

During a run to work, in a couple miles open stretch.

I saw 10 cops yesterday, going home from work, one way. 4 were busy with pullovers (all 18 wheelers), a few more between two car accidents.

Man, are they ever active around here, now.

Now you have *more* reasons to dislike AZ.

I think had I had taller gearing I could have nailed 200 or damn close....pretty sure my 'speed road' is long enough if I start at the entrance.Top speed limiter is disabled with my ECU.At 190...she just couldn't pull any farther...:(

I may or may not have hit exactly 170 on a trip back that may or may not have been from Deals Gap.

And I may or may not have backed off only because of a white spec on the horizon that rapidly turned out to be a car :)

My 1st bike was a ZX11 and i did 188ish.. when i looked at mph it was coming down from 185. My 09 Zx14 i hit the 187 limiter. My 2013 ZX14 only 120 cause i was still breaking it in when i put it up for the winter. It still has the limiter on it. I want to take that off and join the 200 club some day!

155 with my wife on the back. 137 with her on a 2001 ZX9.

Was racing my brother on his R1 and when I let off and looked down I was declining from about 150-155 and then he blew past me. Sooo 160ish? I was never too keen on taking my eyes off of the road at anything over 120 really.

LOL!!Get tucked in der and you won't HAVE to look at that speedo....100's right at the 12'0 clock....and tens after that...you can tell where yer at looking 'almost' straight ahead;)

LOL yea yea i know. I was tucked but there are way too many animals and bad roads in my area to keep looking down at high speeds. Anything can happen in the blink of an eye. Not that we don't already know that or anything.

...back when I had my beloved 07...speedohealed,top speed recall function.Wish I had that for my 2013...the recall function anyway.Always have my trusty GoPro though....;)

My theoretical top speed is 228.50 with my current gearing ratio and extended rev limiter. Will she do it? Hmmm.... I need a GPS unit with a maximum speed feature...

About 170 -tough to see with the speed blur and the puckered.....
