Howdie everyone,

Sorry to bring back this thread from the dead, but believe it or not, even after reading all the above, I'm still slightly confused.

Mr.Hub sir, here's my question;

I have a 2011 ZX14.
I am in love with the Highmount Dual Exhaust Ti Force slip-on system, originally made for 14's 06-07 I believe.
What must I do, to make this system fit?

I understand that my 14 has cats in the headers.
I understand that the Ti Force slip on's have cats in each pipe as well since 06-07 had no cats in the headers.
Thus, I conclude that I will be running around with three sets of cats? Thats alot of meows..

Anywho, back to the heart of the matter,
What exactly must I buy, order, steal or whatever, to make said pipes fit my 14?
Will it be as simple as ordering a part? Will i have to do some welding?

Purdy please, let me know what it is i must do to have these beautiful pipes on my bike.

Many thanks in advance.

-Jay-

Oh yes, I'm new here everyone, I've lurked for quite sometime now, formally a member of bikeland, I thought i'd join this fine forum as well.
Cheers!

06/07: Came with 1 cat honeycomb in each muffler = 2 felines total.
08/011: Came with a cat in the header's collector area = 3 felines total. Headers grew slightly.

06/011: Muffler's slip I/D is universal and fits over any year 14 header.*

06/07: Headers use no cat = 0 felines.

*The Confusion of Gasket Growth Undone:

06/011: Outer diameter muffler-packing-gasket is the same O/D for all years.
06/07: Inner diameter packing is thicker because there is no cat in the header. No flow interruption.
08/011: Inner diameter packing is narrower because the honeycomb in the header grew. This opened the hole of the collector so the cat could breath the exact same breath = No flow interruption.
06/011: Use the same 4 header-to-head-gaskets.
_______________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Torque/HP Years:

06/07: 2-Siamese; remember = 114ft.lbs./?HP
08/011: 3-Wang Dung Cat Gut year tongue?; FSM updated edition = 114ft.lbs./1HP gain

You gut a late header you lose 1 hp or more?; think about it. Did a 3rd cat drop the torque? No. Gut yours and move the torque? Yes.

Buy the slips for the 06-07. Cross reference says, Ti made the I/D the same as the O/D of the gaskets. Since the I/D of the gasket has nothing to do with the O/D of the fit to be Ti'd; I have to do zip of any welding, banging, but waiting for my slip(s) to come in.

Many many thanks Mr. Hub,

Done and done.

I had called a few people and when I'd ask the reps about my question above, they'd presume I was speaking an alien language. Never seemed to know what I was talking about, and the answer was always the same: Sorry sir, but it wont fit your year of motorbike.....

Again, many thanks for the response.

One last thing nagging at me;
Since my 2011 ZX14 is currently running with 3 kitty's, one in each stock pipe, and one in the collector = 3 total,
I don't have to do squat to my Ti's, except put them on correct?

I dont mind losing 1HP + or -, what I don't want however is long term engine damage for doing or not doing something when I install these Ti's.

Gracias again,

Jay-
