Need Advice, Suggestions

I have a L side panel slightly rubbing on the fuel tank and it creaks and squeaks and is totally annoying not to mention damaging the paint. What should I do? Grind off some of the offending panel?
The rubbing is the back portion of the foreman grill where it meets the fuel tank. Ive checked the rear fuel tank mounts and they are all intact and correct.

Buy the one sided foam strips that have the tack on the one side. Find the rub mark, stick the tack side to the frame, the foam side at the plastic part. Piggyback if the rub needs to be farther away. Cutting up OEM parts points to squidness.

If this is like the Gen1, you can loosen the side fairing hanger and rotate it forward a few degrees. That might pull the adjoining fairings forward and give you a couple more millimeters of clearance between the tank and the forman grill. It also might cause some gaps at the ram air cover and tank cover/side faring joint or alleviate them if you already have that.

Otherwise, I'd sand it down. Draw a line with Sharpie. Don't sand farther than the line---always keep your line. Be prepared to go to some 1000 grit paper to finish it off and use 3M scratch and swirl remover with a microfiber cloth to polish out any scuffs that go over the edge if you have that happen. Clean the Sharpie off with denatured alcohol.

Thanks fellers. We ended up shimming up the rear of the fuel tank slightly then slightly wallowing out the lower bolt hole (nearest the offending squeak) to allow for pulling the grill forward slightly. It worked!
