Helibars Report
06/21/14 11:15 AM

I think these things are gonna help my hand pain. I put them on last week, but that afternoon I injured my thumb when I broke a wooden Louisville slugger in a batting cage. Just got back from a ride after waiting all week for the swelling to go down. My right hand still hurts due to the thumb, but my left hand was much better. Hope that is a good sign.
For what its worth, on my 2013 non abs model, I definitly had to reposition the cables...i know some folks have reported that they did not have to, but I did.

My 3/4" Helibar risers arrive on tuesday, June 24th. I have high hopes for them. I'll also report. Did you get Helibars or risers and what size? I've got a 2014 ABS model. I'm interested to see if they fit correctly.

Cool, Bardahl, It looks like it's the more common one. I'm curious to see if the ABS brake line will clear, etc. Also, how much a difference the 3/4 lift and 3/8 swept back will make. I'm sorry that you've been unable to find out. Hopefully the weather will cooperate this weekend and let me ride for a bit....I'd have to get out on the highway to find out.

I got the risers yesterday and although they don't list them as fitting the 2014 with ABS, they in fact DO. The install was very fast. I placed towels on top of my gas tank and cowling just in case. No scratches. It took less then ten minutes and I had to re position NOTHING. They are not 100% perfectly machined and there are tiny gaps and tiny alignment problems. (TINY) But they are well made for the money. I also haven't had time to see if they are miracle cures or not. I only made it a few blocks away from home before the rains came again. I have a dentist appointment today and I'll try to ride out there on the bike. Any help would have been worth it!

I finally got to ride yesterday, about 30 miles. The pain would start setting in after about 20 miles... The hand pain I was experiencing is gone, not even a hint.
Great investment. It sure does not seem like it would make that much difference, but it does. Im 6' 2 ish, and would highly recommend these. i am a happy boy!
