Really not different by much, if at all.

He thinks the foreman grill is attached different where the foreward bolt is recessed but looking at the video I don't see anything different down in there.

"Really not different by much, if at all".

"He thinks the foreman grill is attached different where the foreward bolt is recessed"...Please explain this...so everyone knows exactly WHAT you are talking about.Thanks.

No offense Privateer...truly.But you don't know what you're talking about.THIS cover is VERY different than your simple 3 bolt foreman on your 14.You WILL screw this up if you don't see how things are going together.GUARANTEED.

"He thinks"....no,he KNOWS...not thinks. You get this wrong when working on her..you'll be buying new parts before ya know what hit ya.

It's very tempting to say.."ya...it's the same bike"....it's NOT the same. The bodywork on THIS bike is very different than the earlier ones.Trust me on this.

Not to offend anyone here but I had the luxury of doing the assembly and preparation of my new 14R myself. I'd never seen a 14R in my life and being equipped with a tool box fitted with common tools and the Kawasaki assembly and preparation manual I had absolutely no difficulty with sticking things together on this bike. I obviously had to remove the right cover to service the battery and I had to remove the left cover to top-off my coolant. It really couldn't have been any simpler.

My bike was shipped with too little oil in the crankcase, too little coolant in the reservoir, and too little clutch fluid in the reservoir. I also noted a missing grommet on my right-side muffler cover (P/N 92071-1270). This missing grommet would have not been noticed for several years until the other two had hardened from heat and a irritating vibration had set in. I also encourage others with this model to ensure that the three negative bonding jumpers that attach at the right-side frame lug are properly secured. (ref. page 11 of the assy and prep manual).

In all truthfulness, the 14R has turned out to be a pleasure to tinker with. Prior to installing the windscreen, I took it upon myself to secure a wiring harness behind the instrument cluster that Kawasaki had chosen to leave flopping. It's just the engineer in me that can't stand incomplete works. These things are far from perfect... but like most things in life, they're a work in progress and that's what makes it fun.
