Sport touring?

Who else is going nuts waiting for sunnier days and some road trips?

Here are some routes from one of last years journeys:

http://goo.gl/maps/JBjJo

http://goo.gl/maps/AYiFA

Already got the time off to do this one again...

I don't know why it won't hyperlink?

Different problem here (south of you). Too much OT!!
I work in power generation.
Drought = no hydro power = OVERTIME (we burn natural gas)
With tomorrow, (6am to 10pm), I'll have 40hrs OT this week. 20 more scheduled for next week (6am to 6pm's all week).
Finally getting some rain down here this weekend.

Ive had my new bike for about a month, and so far I think ive barley broke 200 miles on it. :(

Same here, I do remote starts for a living, so im slammed at work doing 50-55 hours a week, then on top of that, any day off I get it seems to be 0-15 degrees outside. This is my last week of overtime, so next week I go back to working 3 12s a week, so it will be easier for me to catch a random nice weather day, since ill be off 4 days a week again.

I hear ya OP. THe whole reason why I bought a ZX was to tour CO more "sportily".

Probably work on/in my garage tomorrow, and take the ZX out for her maiden voyage.

So far, I've bought some Sidi On-Road boots, Cortech tank bag, and am thinking about a SW-Motech tail bag.

First time I Rode 36 was Summer, we now do this trip in May every year.

I had a buddy go down there just after we did last year - it was 120 in Red Bluff then.

It's been in the 60's / 70's a lot this winter in Redding. Great riding weather. I don't plan to be here for this summer's 100+ temps. It's finally raining this week with temps in the 50's, and that's a good thing due to the drought.

We were in Portland 2 weeks ago, glad I missed the snow !

Last week in the foothills near here ... Oak Run Rd. / Phillips Rd.

I'd like to do some mountain riding in Washington, perhaps next fall. The closest I've been is a KLR 650 tour of Vancouver Island BC. I trailered the bike to Canada, so no riding in Wa.

For now, It's back to Colorado to complete my version of the "Endless Summer".

Loveland Pass, CO (12,000ft) last summer.

The wife and I have 2 weeks free in June. Debating either a ride up north to Washington, Oregon, maybe over into Idaho. Or, pack the truck and the flyrods and head out to Yellowstone and the Tetons. Decisions decisions....

Got my 2nd hand centerstand today, but can't mount it until I get my SW Motech luggage racks fitted. I will likely have to move the exhaust for clearance for the bags and only then can I set up a stop for the centerstand.

Just a waiting game...

For a centerstand I've opted for the simple and cheap "Pack Jack" chain maintenance solution.
It works equally well on the Big Ninja.

Touring season is close at hand.

...in spite of last nights 10" of new snow.

I have a Pack Jack but I have almost no snow now. Been riding for a coupla weeks off and on.

I haven't had the need to use my Pack Jack yet and I have no need for any more snow till December.

The weather here in western PA has started to improve, so I've been riding to work. I rode my Ducati on Wednesday and the 14 yesterday. So much nicer on the 14, but I really need to get heated grips and waterproof gloves. My ride is over an hour, and I can barely feel my fingers when I get there :) I have heated grips on my VFR, so doing the same to the 14 this month.
