Why so Dead?
01/13/14 3:07 PM

I find it hard to believe that a forum full of the world's most powerful production motorcycles in the world has a 1/4 section that is straight crickets. Come on guys... I know its cold and the race season is only available to the south, but I need some guys to step up and start showing support for your local 1320. Let me hear from some guys who hit the strip and encourage those who are thinking about stepping up and learning the trade.

I don't think guys buy them to drag race.
If they do they are not saying much about it apart from the usual suspects.
They buy them to do weekend café runs man.......
Or fit them out like a GTR or Concours pack horse and go kaboodling or is it noodling.....

I have a thread man on my effort with it and I'm in your corner for sure.
1320 feet or 402 metres for me... WOT

Don't get me wrong. I ride it to work everyday.
I like to suit up and scratch but the drag strip is where I feel at home.

Get on it....

I plan on trying it out come summer. The closest track is about 80 miles away. 1/8 mile, but the rules are relaxed enough I can go give it a feel and see how I like it without having to invest a ton of money right away. My goal, if I like it and get the hang of things, is to go make some Wednesday night runs on the 1/4 at Brainerd International.

That's the beauty of this bike though. It will run 9.20s with the stock exhaust. All the bike needs is an adjustable rear lowering link and a strap for the front to run those times. I went 9.90 on my 2nd try BONE stock. I'm talking stock height, mirrors, reflectors, full rear fender, everything. Don't feel like you would have to dump a ton of money into the bike if you like to drag race. Adjustable lowering links are around $120 and the front strap and brackets will run around $80. $200 bucks and you own a bike that will dominate ANYTHING set up the same way and a lot of bikes set up to truly drag race. I will challenge anyone on the planet that is stock wheelbase without a power adder.
