I made a mistake too. We use more than 5 counter sunk bolts to affix the cush drive to the wheel. If you look in the picture of the bare wheel, cush drive side you will see multiple holes. Removing the bushings give you access to 5. Let me get the print.

That rear is 1 lb, 14 oz lighter than my rear Carrazzeria Tri-R and I'm sure that was the lightest CZ rim they ever made for the ZX-14.

I paid $1200 on a very special deal for my set of Tri-Rs back in 2012. That was a steal even then. These are better wheels for $1800. I'd go for a set if you're looking for the best deal you can get on lightweight wheels. The only thing you can get that's lighter is carbon fiber or possibly magnesium but I'd forget about those if you're concerned about withstanding rough use.

The wheel hanging in the photo would be the same regardless of fitment. The only thing that changes is the the Rotor Carrier's. Depending on the bike they can be larger or smaller. I know there are lighter wheels at different prices. I don't want to make any crazy claims but I'm happy you like them. It is a very light wheel, very strong wheel at a good price.

I just wanted to post some photos that show how our cush drive and sprocket carrier mesh together. This arrangement is good for over 4900lbs of force. The stock wheel can only resist 1216lbs but it's unlikely it could take more than 60% of that before the sprocket carrier in the stock wheel would deform the cush drive bushings. A DID-ERV7 520chain breaks at about 8900lbs. They never snap the pins come out of the side plates. I'm not an engineer so I'm not gonna dive deep into it. They are cool pictures. I uploaded them so just open them. If you can't let me know.

$1800...Any color..normally they list for $2199 and there is an upcharge for the bright colors, Red, Gold, Blue..but I'm waving all of that. Free shipping and I can get them to you in 3 weeks time. I posted more pictures but I'm not sure if you see them unless I make them visible. 5 of you buy I will drop a $100...I can't run the promo forever but I want to get some reviews from you guys...I value your opinion good or bad.

To be clear. All you will need is a 90-degree, 8.3mm a valve stem..and a sprocket..the same 5 bolt set up that BST, OZ etc use. Spocket Center Superlite or AFAM are easy to acquire. Also Renthal and Sunstar make race sprockets that fit too. Unfortunately they take longer to get. My opinion those 4 make the best Aluminum Sprockets. I run the 520 set up. A 520 chain is good for 8,900 for DID, or 9,400 for EK 520..The 530 is like 10,200 tensile strength so to me it doesn't make sense to run the heavier chain. Moto GP bikes with over 280hp run a 520 chain.

Thanks, Dave.

Well, here is my review... Holy crap, Hank, I got a quote for 3500.00... if you want a set having that solid carrier w/sprocket. You are looking at buying two sets with that kind of deal Dave is making. I'd be on those in a heartbeat, but I have a spare set of wheels.

5 guys times... that's a deal and a half right there. And that's from '06 to the current model... rotatable rims.

Not sure what you mean Hub.
I bought a set of Carra's in March of 07 for my Blackbird.
The were model V-6. List was $1640.00 and my cost was $1150.00.
The hub was part of the wheel. Cushions or bumpers installed into it.
The sprocket, carrier and drive pins just pushed into the cushions in the hub.
Hope that's clearer.

When I heard 3500 from my source I thought it was a deal for these. Now you're down to 1100. Schooled me on wheels.

Not sure if it was you that told me about Carrozzeri having problems with the first design. The current design the center hub where the bearings reside and where you place the bushings is now one piece. I posted the pictures to show how our hub and cush drive/sprocket carrier inter lock so there isn't a weakness. I'm not trying to directly compare to your wheels or make any negative statements about their previous design. I was trying to assure the forum member who brought up the issue that we don't have a weakness in our design related to the cush drive/sprocket assembly. I wish Honda would have kept making the Blackbird. Now let's hope Team Green gives us a ZX15R. Nothing like torque at every rpm.

As for the torque, the overwhelming majority of people who have weighed in on threads stick with 530 pitch on the Hayabusa and the ZX-14. I know moto GP bikes are making tremendous hp but I don't know about the torque. I shave every ounce I can but a chain and sprockets is one place I don't except an aluminum rear sprocket. Just my Some people have done it but most say not to.

I'd look into the fitment of a Talon aluminum rear sprocket because they make a fit for BST. Should fit Titax as well. They look very light. Vortex is the lightest I've actually weighed. Vortex has the lightest steel countershaft sprocket I know of too.

But the magic question is: “how much do they weigh?” and remember, 2007 was 15 years ago. I got a similar deal on my Carrazzerias in about 2011-2012 but it was unheard of even at that time. Took at least a year to get the wheels, I think 57cycle was offering a deal that CZ no longer wanted to honor, they took the ad down shortly after I ordered. I believe I got the last set of Tri-Rs made for the ZX-14.

Can you offer the same deal on Titax wheels for Hayabusa owners, Davo? It's a similar bike. The Gen3 just came out and it might match numbers with the 14R. We'll be waiting a couple months to see the dyno numbers with mods.

As far as torque goes it really doesn't matter as much as tensile strength. Your rear tire will break loose long before you get anywhere close to maximum torque. Regina make a drag race chain in 520 and 530 with a tensile strength of 10,566. They quote the same strength. When you look at an EK 3D 520 chain with a tensile strength of 9400lbs the difference is mute. Renthal actually makes the lightest front Spocket with Driven just behind, followed by Sunstar. This is my opinion I think Renthal, Sunstar and Driven make a more durable product. Between the heat treatment to the hard anodized surface on the rear Aluminum. I'm not a brand advocate. You can see in the pictures which is lighter and higher in quality.
