Rearsets
04/25/13 6:51 AM

Has anyone here fitted rearsets to an ABS 2012-2013 bike yet? It seems that the earlier model rearsets won't fit due to the solid brake line that goes from the rear slave cylinder to the ABS pump, not being able to move upwards enough. The gear side also has problems, as the linkage arm is to long. I am waiting on an answer from Vortex re the RS 441K rearsets. These show as fitting a 2012 model but not a 2013, so the ABS is probably the difference. Although that should not affect the gear side.

The gear side also has problems, as the linkage arm is to long.
If you mean gear shift "linkage rod," you can get those all over the place in all different lengths. The thread is universal.

The brake side problem would not be as easy to solve.

After some more investigation I have found out the earlier model rearsets for the ABS bikes are not compatible with the gen II bikes. The brake line that goes back to the ABS pump on the 2012/2013 bikes is a solid line not allowing much travel for footpeg adjustment, & won't allow the brake slave cylinder to go high enough without modification. So it seems unless you want to modify the rear brake line (maybe replace with a flexible one) rearsets are not an option. Bugger!
