To NinjaRyder: A legendary CA 'outlaw' Biker, Bob Bitchin',once said; " A motorcycle will get you through times of no sex better than sex will get you through times of no motorcycle!".

To Grn 14: Put the fender back on, for cryin' out loud! The FE arrangement has just put the plate too far under, where its inline for tail contact and detritus, LOL.

Just for a point of information, am I the only ZX-14 enthusiast who likes a real fender?

P.S. I see that while I was typing, Mark had already answered my query! What do others say?

@Grn.... You'tre getting close to bottoming out if you're hitting that plate....Waaaay soft
Def go see your local guy and get her dialed in...
once done you might think the ride is a bit harsh, but you know it's set right..
if you really got used to the "plushness" then talk to the tech, they can work with you
I usually tell my guy... set me up for track with road manerism
for now no heavy hits with the throttle hand

@ Grn.. "My understanding of the suspension(rear) is to decrease the sag,you need to increase preload, yes? To a point I mean.Without changing the shock links that is.?????

Yes but not to a point where it has no suspension..... Bike still needs to squat a little to get that powa to the floor
if it's to tight the rear might have a tendency to break loose, when driving the spurs into her side

btw- from the angle of your pic I don't think your fender eliminator is culprit for the bent plate, but I could be wrong... I would get her dialed in first

LOL...I don't HAVE a fender eliminator on there...just NO FENDER.Believe me,it didn't fold up by itself I do understand about her needing to 'squat' just a bit...ya.I know what you're saying.

"rear might have a tendency to break loose, when driving the spurs into her side"... I take it you've ridden one alreadyLOL!!!!Besides...She's got KTRC....what's to worry about?

"for now no heavy hits with the throttle hand"....fu$# that...I'll bend that plate up prior to riding if I have to!This bike doesn't like 'nice and easy now"

Ever try and stop a Horse that LOVES to run...ya....kinda like that.

but.... between the yes, no ,maybe, I should, nah, do it......just decided to go with what I came to the dealer for
a year later they introduce this thing..... glad I held off,, now just gotta work on getting one

she sounds addictive,, will look forward to your (and other folks as well) saddle time reviews as the temps warm up

Well...I just went out and did some adjusting.Firmed up the rear spring preload some...not a lot...but enough that I can feel a better firmness to it.Same with the front preload.Firmed er up a bit.Added some comp/rebound also.More in line with "high speed/good roads"...There is a fine line between firm, and harsh.Having my other bike...I kinda have a good idea what that manual means when it says...firmer or softer.Making adjustments on that bike....went the whole gamut of trying different settings.

We'll see how she runs now....next ride. The rear isn't near as soft and 'slow' as it was earlier today before. So we'll see.

There's a guy on the net that does suspensions...has some vids on there concerning the 14.Very informative.
