Screen Saver
07/16/12 1:05 AM

Add one part sexiest motorcycle currently in production
Add one "God of War" background
Finish off with a healthy pinch of Photoshop
Shake don't stir........

Thought I would offer it up as a screen saver if any one wanted it.

Download Image Here (This will take you to the full size file, right click and save image).

Thanks for looking,

No problem Craig. I thought I might make a new one each month or every couple of weeks if there is any interest in screen savers / desk top backgrounds. If there was maybe BG could create a section for them.

Thanks,

Excellent idea, maybe this could be made into a ZX-14 photoshop screensavers/desktop images section! Good job!

The only thing that would make it better would be if the bike was RED.

Thanks Alg8er.

KoflaOlivieri, I ran the idea past BG and he seems open to exploring it (perhaps you can jump on board with some images - send a PM to BG c/w a link to the image)

Maddevill, I grew up with Kawasaki Racing green, but must realize that there are many other colours on the Kawasaki paint palette. Kawasaki did run with Red in the GPZ series that I really loved. The next one I make (and I have an idea already) will most definitely feature a Red ZX-14.

Spyglass, I noticed that Bg created a ZX-14 Wallpaper section. I'll try to work on something next week after I get back from MIROCK. Even though I love Photoshop, I am not into landscape photography but I'll give it a try!

I had a 83 GPz1100.It was stock with the red wheels Chrome black pipes and red with blue and white stripes. It was the most beautiful bike I ever had.Only problem is it didn't start running till 7 grand. But once it hit 7500 it was gone.It was very peaky for a four stroke.7-9500.

Craig maybe 20 lbs heavier (still a decent and good looking bike today).... to be thought of as baby fat when considering today's all grown up models. LOL

I remember my first street legal motorcycle. A Honda Hawk 400. A good little bike in its day. I think it had all of 27 HP with a top speed of 105 (hell it could almost be a Hardly Dangerous hunter today, if you were a skinny 16 year old and weighted in at 1/3 the weight of a hog humper and factor in lbs / hp). I had a photo of the GPZ550 on my wall for the longest time. Its stubby small head light bullet fairing seemed so leading edge and racy. That was a bike that I wanted to own more than anything.

I used to look up to the guys riding the infamous KZ900 (enjoyed, bored out to 1000cc enjoyed, and over bored to 1100 and enjoyed again). It was the bad boy on the block. I remember buying a 1981 KX750 (it was the fastest 750 that year..... 2 months after I bought it they brought out the GPZ750 and it was just a hair faster (both sitting in a parking lot and on the 1/4 track). I had it painted Kawasaki Green, put super bike bars on it, took off the heavy stock exhaust and center stand, add 4 into 1 header. Replaced the rear sprocket - added 2 teeth, installed an aftermarket clutch (so stiff that it two 2 weeks to build my hand muscles up to actual use it for more than a 1 hour ride). Slapped on some Pirelli Phanton tires..... it wasn't the GPZ750 but it was mine.

One day I pick up a motorcycle magazine and I see her. The Kawasaki ZX100. I could not imagine a biker ever being able to look any better than that ZX11. I wanted that bike as bad as I had wanted the GPZ550 as a kid. The difference was I was in a position to slap down some money and buy it..... but my kids were very young and the timing was not right.

Years passed and one day my brother calls and asks "you still like the Ninja"? My friend is selling his. I bought some riding gear and a helmet, bought a ticket to Alberta, and flew out to get the new bike of my dreams. I rode it home and thoroughly enjoyed every minute on it. I remember the first time a cranked the throttle wide open. It felt like it was all I could do just to hand on. I never pictured myself selling it. I had some great rides on the bike.

One day one of my guys comes into my office and says he wants to buy it. I told him it was not for sale. It did plant a seed. After about the 6th prodding, I said yes. I was going to take a break from riding for a year. Watching someone pull out of your driveway on your bike can change that thought in an instant. Within a week I had the ZX1400.

I guess the point I am making is that we should enjoy the bike and the moment because it and they do pass. You can never go back. I will always have a soft spot for the GPZ550, but my heart belongs to the ZX14 (today)

Craig,

A worthy and impressive list of mounts. You have been in the litre bike club a long time.

I put a few images in the Wallpaper Section. Not sure if there is much interest in this sort of thing or if it is just not a section that is frequented. It may have been better to leave it in this pictures section.

Spyglass;
I had a hardon for the ZX-11 ever since it first came out.Nothing like it.Still would like to own one.I mean in 1991 it would turn a 10.26.Are you kidding me.Everything else was 10.60-10.80.I couldn't afford a ZX-10 in 1986 so I had to buy leftover Suzukis 83 GS 1100E for $4400.Nice bike but not a Kawasaki.11.10 in the 1/4.Wheelie like crazy, had 3 of them.Stage 3 jet kit pod filters and Yoush pipe and it would scream.Still not a ZX-11.Bought a 99 ZRX 1100 Dale Walker pipe stage 3 jets with pods +4 rear sprocket. It was close to a ZX-11.Different head smaller carbs milder cams lower compression. With ZX-11 cams and pistons I would of liked it.But I wrecked it before that happened.

I am sure some people, including me, are using your wallpapers. I've been a little busy, but hopefully soon I should add a few pictures to it.

Craig I agree with you. When it comes to motorcycles, some models make such huge leaps in performance that they become the bar to which other bikes are measured. The ZX-11 is such a bike. It was the King in every sense of the word.
The guy I sold it to scared the crap out of himself and sold it after owning it for only 3 months. He said "It was more bike than I could handle and I knew that I would get into trouble if I kept it".

When I got my ZX-14 I was impressed at how smooth it was. I rolled the throttle while merging onto the highway and was surprised to look down and see that I was doing 140km/hr (100kn/hr speed limit). The ZX-14 has come a long way from my 1994 ZX-11, but there are a few things I miss. I loved how the ZX-11 seemed to come alive and explode as the rpm climbed into the 8000 range (like a monster kept in a box, poked with a stick, and released out of its box). It was like an amusement ride on 2 wheels. I miss that bike.
