does anybody know what new zx14 prices out the door are for the Black and Orange?? My Uncle in Afghanistan is coming back home in June and wants me to find him one.

When I want the cheapest prices on the current models, (or even a year or two older) I check CycleTrader.com which scours the distance you specify. Speaking of which, I specify "Any Distance" to see how cheap I could get one.

Here's what my query looks like:

When I ran the query, it unfortunately listed the 2010 models mixed in with the '09 and '08's.

Hey duran I'm just a few hours down the road from you and I have been searching for a deal since Oct. There are quit a few 09s available and even a couple 08s. I have been searching state wide and the best deals I could find on 09s was right here in H-TOWN. Kawasaki of Pasadena has them out the door for 11Gs. I think Kruz has a place up close to you in Dallas somewhere that he buy's his bikes from.

Duran, are you wanting the Black/Orange '09 like the one I have? If so, I can do some research on cycletrader and see what I can come up with. My thoughts are, if you find a cheap enough price, you can always pay the $400-600 to have it transported, or you can have him get an Airhawks seat cushion and ride that bad boy.

I just bought mine a few weeks ago, a 2009 Monster Edition. I can't wait to remove all the stickers.

Actually, I have sent the dealer the entire amount - it's completely paid for, but I haven't picked it up yet because I live in Pennsylvania and the dealer is in NC. The dealers around here wouldn't match the price advertised down in NC, and my sister-in-law lives right there. Hell, my wife and I were going down there anyways, so I figured that I'd just buy that one in NC. The difference in price will buy me a Power Commander and then some.

I paid:

$9599.00 for the bike
$395.00 freight (non-taxable)
$13.60 title/reg fees in NC for a temp 30 day tag

$10,007.60 Out the door - I'll have to pay taxes on it when I title it here in my home state

There are a lot of 2009 leftovers out there. I even found a 2008 in Bedford, PA, in that real dark blue color for something like 9 grand, out the door with taxes. It was hard to pass it up, but I wanted a black bike.

By the way, Duran. I just completed my second tour about a year ago. I was in Mehtar Lam, a little shit-hole just north of Jalalabad.

I found my deal on that site and purchased a 2007 leftover for $8000.00 and after tax and tags and extended warranty walked out the door paying around $9500.
