Oil type

Just switched over to full synthetic oil on my '11 ZX14. Two questions:
1) Any issues with Yamalube 15w-50? Why Yamalube you ask? I get it serviced at a Yamaha/Kawi dealership. The mechanic who races (an R1) highly recommended it.
2) If I ever choose to switch brands, yet stay full synthetic, is that going to be an issue?

Thanks in advance.

Nah should be great... might cost a couple hp but probably nothing to be concerned over.

The only issue with the Yamaha oil is the price. I checked on-line and it appears to be a $14/qt product. That's a bit pricey. As for performance, it should work just fine.

RockyMountain motorsports recently had Bel-Ray EXS 15w-50 ester synthetic on clearance for $29.99/4-liter container. This product would be a direct competitor to the Yamalube that you're using for half the price. For the past two years I've used 10w-40 as recommended in my owners manual but it gets HOT here in Atlanta during the summer so I'm going to give the higher viscosity Bel-Ray a try.

Just replaced oil and filter. I used Castrol Power RS Racing 4T 10W-50 full synthetic with OEM filter. Hope Castrol does a good job. I love to see clean oil from the oil checking window.

I have been running Maxima, 50/50 synthetic and more recently Fully Synthetic ester, cant say there are any issues.
