I am not sure about the price as I dont know where you live and what bikes go for in your area. However if the bike is clean I think that is a pretty good price. With only 3800 miles it is basically new if you get it pull the flies and get a Power Commander and enjoy. All the best!

$5k sounds like a heck of a good deal if the bike is in good condition IMHO. I picked up an 06 about 3 months ago with 4k miles, muzzy full exhaust, and a pc for $5500 and I thought that was a steal after shopping for the zx for about 3 months. All others I could find were $6k and above. Just my experience.

Yep the Rook is right, make sure you've had the one time frame inspection done, that's a biggie, takes about 1/2 hour at a Kawasaki dealer and costs you nothing. Other than that, the '06 is basically bulletproof. I wouldn't sell my '06 for $5000 and I got waaay more miles than that.... jump on it.
BTW... make sure you pull the flies if they're still in there, makes the bike way more entertaining to ride!

Sounds like a fair price I sold mine last April with 21k on it for 6200. I'll assume you will be taking the bike out for a ride before you buy it? The bike is four years old and only has 3600 miles on it many of those miles could have come from the drag strip. That might not be the case but a four year old zx14 with 3800 miles on it makes me wonder. If the bike still has the stock tires after four years I would change them even if they only have 3800 miles on them.
1) Frame (even if its already been inspected check it again)
2) tip over sensor rattle
3) cam-chain tensioner (rattle)
4) valve cover might leak oil

IMO, the tip over sensor rattle is a normal noise (and not hard to fix). The cam chain tensioner rattle is also normal if it goes away a few seconds after start up. Lot's of people have posted about these noises and it is very likely you will hear them even on a brand new 14.

I believe the service schedule(s) (recall) is for three separate checks at different intrevals so you are corvered on that one. 5000 is a good deal I think. I would buy it for that in a second the guy i bought my 07 from paid 14,500 with two helmets and a jacket in Alaska in early 07 I got a great deal on it and with only 1,200 mi on it but if i had waited man would I have lost out lol
