Gen-Mar risers and foot pegs
03/24/10 3:33 PM

Got my risers, they went on in about 5 minutes..I could not take a ride as the freaking direct tv guy has been at my house for 4.5 hours...they sent me a rookie...I called up GenMar, had a question about the pegs, they informed me that they have them in production. I asked the guy if he has used them and his responce was his 07 was the test bed and there is a big difference if your a tall guy over 6'3" or have a bad knee...for fifty bucks, what the heck, I ordered a pair and they are powder coating them black for free! Very good company to do business with...I will give you my .02 when their installed and I take a 300-400 mile ride this coming week.

Have you had a chance to ride yet? I am getting ready to get bar risers and I am looking into options for leg lowering kits as well.

I wrote a review in the other thread concerning them. I returned them to genmar today for a refund. They moved the pegs to far forward and made it impossible to shift gears on the bike. They are worthless really unless you want to spend the money on an adjustable shifter.

I got to test out my Genmar handlebar risers today going back and forth to work - 1 hour each way. I'm not a big guy. 5'10" on a good day and fairly lean. But I'm not as young as I used to be, and the 1" rise made a huge difference in my comfort over the hour.

I envy you guys that 1" risers are a comfort mod for you. Used to be for me too. Until I got old and feeble.

I am certainly getting the risers but will probably just live with the pegs where they are now.

I put the Corbin Rearset relocators on my 14 3 years ago.I had the same issue but got used to it.But last year I found a extra shifter on ebay cuz I had a plan.I took it to a friend of mine that works at a metal fab shop and had him shorten the shifter then leghten the pin so it was ten times easier!!!

I put this on last May and it been waaaaaay better.Never had one miss shift.

Has anyone tried stacking the risers? How does it work?

I am just finishing up on doubling up Gen-mar 1" risers(2" total). I have read about using both Gen-mar and Heli-bars that would give you 1.75". With two of the Gen-mars you will need four longer bolts 8mmx1.25x90mm and a longer front brake line. I ordered mine from Roaring Toyz, they make them there so you can order whatever you need. With this setup there is miner contact but will turn to full lock both left and right with no issues.

Do you have a picture of the double Genmars? Where is the minor contact? What length brake line did you order?
Thanks!
