nope. Doubt you will find anyone who has unless they are into LSR. I think the 18T would fit in there without a problem.

These are all 17T. Looks pretty tight. The chain guard around the front can be removed but sprocket cover has to line up to the engine case and you can see there is not much room between the sprocket and the case.

18 should fit fine...maybe bend the chainguard(a small amount) away from the chain possibly?I don't know IF that chainguard actually mates up on the inside of the cover...I doubt it.

Not yet, no. I had it in for only one ride at the end of the year, but it was getting cold so I didn't give 'er hell. And it's -8 outside today, so no riding for me just yet...

IF you keep that rear at the stock teeth...your 18 front is gonna cause your acceleration to fall...but your top end is gonna raise...if that helps.You may not like the feel...IDK.I would say...you'll need a speedohealer as well to eliminate that top speed 186 limiter....you speedo will definitely be off.You'll kit that limiter before you have her wound out.

Mine's an R, so no speedo healer needed, it takes the readings from wheel speed. Also I have a Roman's tune, so no limiter, and a full 2 bros pipe for a few extra hp. So I probably won't notice the 'lack' of acceleration at lower speeds, but I'm sure it'll be easier to launch now at the drags (less tendency to wheelie) since it's stock height and wb. Also in theory should be good for 210 on the top end ;)

I don't think you want a milder acceleration at the line.You didn't actually say you would be trying to rip a 60ft time.I think it will slow any hard launch...so you might not want that?And yes to not needing a speedohealer....I didn't know what year you had;)Glad they've changed that...it's very nice to not have to calibrate anything speedo/gearing related.If the roadside speed signs are correct(which I've used two...one at the beginning and one coming back...mine is off by 1-3 mph...which is very good;)I have a GPS(mobile)that I can check mine with...though I haven't wanted to yet...but I will this Spring.

If I had looked more closely at your avatar there...I wouldn't have mentioned the speedohealer at all.

Yup, rpms will be about 5% less. As for the 1/4 mile I'll get a better launch if it wants to wheelie less. Brocks went to taller gearing on their stock wheelbase bike and pulled off 8s on a stock engine. There's a local guy here that ran 9.60s with an all stock bike - his only mods were a 40t rear (basically the same gear change as an 18t front) and saddle bags :p There's something extremely satisfying about a 9 sec bike with saddle bags :D

So yeah, taller gearing will help me launch harder on a wheelie-prone bike AND get a higher top speed AND lower revs for more relaxed cruising/touring. win win win :) Not bad for a $30 investment.

i have just ordered a 18 tooth for just the same thinking thetx14. i figure it is worth a try and yes i just do not need all that power right there at the bottomend so i was thinking a 18 front would help for my commuter. ill know in a week when it arrives and ill have it in and then a week later ill have a mpg difference and power diff (seat of pants dino)

rpms will be lower...but I wonder how the throttle response is gonna be when just taking off?You don't suppose you'll use more throttle to get er rolling?IDK....just a thought.That would definitely cause a lower mpg over time....?

Did you guys change the rear sprocket too. Or just the front?

I changed the rear to a 43 at one point...stock front.Now...some guys say they experienced a stumbling at low rpms with the taller rear gearing.With Ktrc on.I never got that.Mine worked fine.This was on a 2012 zx14R.Had Brock's go fast exhaustpackage and PC 5 tuned mapping(Brock's).I don't think it had the Guhl's flash...it may have....but she didn't stumble at all with mine.I do believe these other guys were using stock front gearing...but not sure.

You might want to check out 'ZX-1441.com"...lots of gearing changers over there with the new 14R's.
