Thanks Cornelius, its going to a long 600 mile break-in period, not going over four grand. I'm following Kawasaki's break-in procedure to the letter.

Don't be afraid to go past 4 grand every once in a while, the load will help set the rings.

Thanks all, I love this motorcycle. Cjuni- I'm out of Russell in the hill towns. I had a 2009 ZX14 SE with the CBO/BLK color that I feel in love with. I traded her in for this one. I will post more pictures as soon as I can.

It is orange, I thought it looked red at first.

What do they call that Color?

The 2012 Z1000 I had was called "candy burnt orange" I think

Fiction, the red bike looks great. I am not far from you and I regularly cruise up Rte 20 into Russell. I will keep an eye out for you. You are gonna love the bike.

Very nice mate...use full throttle or near to it where possible during run in while keeping rpm below the recommended levels. Hard to do but its about putting load on the engine, not high rpm. The most important time during run in is the first 20 to 30 miles...a faster (wider open throttle use) run in engine will have more power and better fuel economy.
My first ride home from the dealer a couple of weeks ago was throttle on and off all the way home. Speed up, slow down...just be careful of any traffic behind you when doing it.

Wow, I need sunglasses just to look at the bike....

btw, on day one I cranked my bike up to 110, but still stayed near or a tad over the RPM limits. First oil change is important - mine had minor metal flakes as to be expected on break in. Don't go past the 700 miles on first swap.

I'm thinking about doing either a full exhaust system or slip ons. I've already ordered a corsa wind screen from zero gravity, be here in about two weeks. I would love to get a brocks full alien head exhaust, but due to cost I may just get the alien head duel slip ons.
