A lot has gone on in my life since we moved home Sep 7 anyway cause of compo (my L/H )shoulder bursitis & my R/H leg still not right & other things going on, ive had little saddle time or interest to ride it, so ive bin thinking for months of getting out of riding full stop as im 50 & smashed up permanently and lost the desire But HangoON ! I just got back from a short ride to see if it,s still their and the way that engine growls at me when opening her up,I said to my self no this is me it,s who I am so im back I hope she dont get me into trouble with the law she,s so much a temptation to race anything every time im on her ! I guess i,ll never fully mature

If you are having problems coz of the aches and pains there are heaps of things you can do to make it more comfortable.
I have done a lot to mine and i`m 63 and can do the Kersbrook, Williamstown ,Mannum , Murray Bridge, old road , back through COP non stop pain free.
Give me a yell and i`ll show you my bike.I only live up the road at Surrey Downs.

I'm sorry about your mom GRN.Both of mine went quick.My Dad died on Christmas Eve 94.I would think it would get easier but every year its the same thing.Can't figure it out then it hits me my Dad.For me Christmas sucks.I'm sorry to say that because it's about the birth of my Lord.Starting to get sad so I'll go.

I found this quote on another website. It explains at least to myself why I keep riding despite the aches and pains.

"Riding a motorcycle doesen't call to everyone. It carries a level of risk that is anathema to most.And it demands a level of competence, a degree of engagement that is unusual in today's society.Like an old craft, the skills and the wisdom necessary to be successful at it don't come quickly,but emerge only slowly, over time. Most people today simply don't have the patience or the inclination to deal with that sort of thing.

But for those of us who do, to that tiny minority who are drawn to it, the rewards are immeasureable. For us, riding imbues life itself with color,tinges it with adventure. It connects us to a time when people weren't perhaps quite so shy about how they lived. A time when everything wasen't a careful, exacting calculus of risk and reward. A bolder time when a fear of getting hurt didn't stand as an impentrable shield to the simple enjoyment of life.

So, yeah, those of us who ride are deffinitely different. But it's a good difference. We carry something that once was common but now is rare. Something of the distilled essence of what got us all here.

Well said!And thanks Audio...sorry you feel bad...I understand.....christmas doesn't men much to me anymore either....just too commercial I think.I'm starting to realize...my parents wouldn't have wanted me to mourn over them...but to live now....remembering them.That's what I'm doing pretty much.My mom probably won't make it another six months....this time together now is very important...wish I would have been more tuned in before...can't change the past though...it's today that counts.God Bless Audio...and all you guys and your families;)

After losing my brother in 2008, my mother in 2009, then my grandmother (who was like a mother to me) three weeks after my mother, then my father in 2011. It really makes you apprecaite who you have left, while you have them.

And as you said, all you can do is live life in the present. And enjoy what you have, and who you have to share it with, while you have them. Cuase life is precious and VERY short.
