Will a 2009 LH fairing panel fit a 2007?
11/13/11 6:16 AM

I accidently dropped (aaaaaarghhh) my 2007 ZZR1400 today. I scratched teh left hand side panel (upper panel).

I have an option to buy a new panel from a 2009 model.

Will it fit?

Thanx,

This saved my day. I managed to drop the bike after owning it for 5 (!)) days... I have bought a new mirror and a new clucth lever, so the only thing that I had to get was the side panel.

Thanx again, now I only have put the parts onto the bike. But that's just fun. :-)

Sorry Cool about yer mishap.Even though it's a fairly 'light' bike for it's size,I've managed to drop mine as well. Not fun.Embarrasing.Thank God it wasn't in traffic .NEVER park your baby on an incline!!!!!Facing downhill.Okay...I knew better. But the slope really didn't appear THAT bad.In fact...it didn't actually fall until I went to wipe down the left hand muffler in between destinations.Lucky I was able to kinda jump forward there and catch er before she really got moving. But still, she DID hit the ground with me holding on to the bars.Bummer.Scraped the left hand inlet on the muffler...that very outside round edge.No other damage. Now I pretty much slip er into 1st and move forward against the gear IF I think there may be any chance of a forward roll.

Come close a few other times doing a u-turn and using the front brake.NOT THE BEST WAY to control this beast at low speed and turning.I Don't front brake er anymore. Not while turning like that.

Yeah,

I have been max unlucky.... the left side fairing must be changed. The -09 will fit, but has the wron black color. Or so they say at the local dealer.

So it is a new panel.

and...

the nose cowl has a crack...

So it is a new nose too...

These parts hare hideously expensive her in Norway. But the bike is spotless (er... was), so I'll just have to make this a lesson hard learned.

And let me tell you, the incline was not really big. My old XX would NOT have tipped over. So now I have learned, put the baby in gear :-)

Did the same thing myself. That was a hard lesson but I sure did learn well from it. Same injuries to mine but i was really lucky. The lower was the only thing with any damage worth replacing parts over. Got the bottomm front edge of the stock muffler scraped too.

Good luck you have to make her new again.
